It's eclipse day and I think there's no better brand of ethereal electronic music as Attom's celestial sounds. Attom's music has such a loftiness to his production that you feel like you're floating on air. I would say his music is an offshoot of tropical, but really it's in a category all its own. The cascading pulses of chimes and bells fit perfectly alongside the atmospheric guitars and the (keeping with the theme) Cosmos & Creature's vocals. Brandyn and Molly can do no wrong, and are serious workhorses in the market of indie pop. Add that all up and you get a tune that's wonderfully ready for you to "Dive" into.

THROTTLE - BADDEST BEHAVIOUR
Music, Original MixCommentAh the time...the time just slips away so quickly. I wasn't going to let this track slip away from making it onto the BB pages. At this point Throttle doesn't need our help. He's been rocking festivals all over the world in the last year, but he's a homie, he played our south by southwest show, and we love him so we had to support his latest jam - this fever inducing dance floor heater "Baddest Behaviour". Living up to his appropriately titled name this track throttles the gas with a flame-like blend of dancehall vocals, horns, and groovy bass. This tune is just soo ready for dance floors everywhere and it's already getting serious air time from the biggest of DJ's. Time for you to "put your hands in the air" it's Friday, the weekend is here and this song is ready to be THE anthem for your weekend shenanigans.
SAM MARTIN - BRING ME HOME (PAPA YA REMIX)
Music, RemixCommentPapa Ya isn't new to our BB pages, we've featured their fun loving originals "Sunny" and "Outta Here" which have both put up phenomenal streaming numbers, and really put the project on the map. Well today they're back but this time with a new Papa Ya remix. Sam Martin's bluesy original "Bring Me Home" gets a faster tempo and perky update with this remix morphing the original into Papa Ya's signature hybrid of tropical, electronic and pop. Synth and piano stabs, lead the way while the chorus fills in with a hornlike synth melody that's just all too catchy. This record is a perfect fit to re-energize the waning days of summer.
[PREMIERE] AXEL MANSOOR - WASTED MY LOVE (SLEEPING LION + DULSAE REMIXES)
Music, PREMIERE, Remix1 CommentIf you missed the sudden arrival of Axel Mansoor a few short months ago, then you best get hip to the program. His debut singles "Wasted My Love" and "Out of My Head" have collectively hit 1 million streams and notched some impressive milestones like Spotify US Viral Top 5 and Hype Machine #1. Well today we're celebrating the premiere of two delectable remixes from Sleeping Lion and Dulsae of "Wasted My Love". The first from Boston's Sleeping Lion being a downtempo experimental jam rife with layered modulated vocals, deep pulsating synths and playfully sexy melodic lines. The second from Dulsae is my personal favorite of the two - an upbeat exploration on the original that takes flight in the chorus with pulsing swarms of synth work that complements the guitar all too perfectly. Both valiant re-imaginings on the original it was tough to pick just one so I give you both!
Disclosure: Axel Mansoor is managed by Beautiful Buzzz writer Mike Doose.
BRASSTRACKS - FAVORITE (FEAT. VANJESS)
Music, Original MixCommentWell here they are again. My dudes Brasstracks are back on the pages of BB. Conor and Ivan have continually left me in a great headspace with their sexy brand of electro soul. Their originals (check out "Good Love ft. Jay Prince") have been just as cool as their covers (listen to their "All Of the Lights Cover" with our Buzzzmix partner today Alexander Lewis) and there's no sign of slowing down. This new single featuring R&B Nigerian American duo VanJess is a slowed down house jam with a mysterious quality to it that should take you straight to the neon clouded skyline of Tokyo. The vocal melody in the second part of the choruses just floats upward with silky smooth precision that's almost equal parts haunting and relaxing. "I just want to be...your favorite" she sings...well I think this one may just be exactly that.
Disclosure: Brasstracks is promoted by Beautiful Buzzz writer Lindsey Oh + Alli Lindsey
JOHN.K X RICKY REMEDY - GOLD
Music, Original MixCommentLemme tell you about this dude JOHN.k who's pretty fresh on the scene, but definitely poised to make a quick and exciting rise. His first record "Runnin'" hit New Music Friday on Spotify and had some pretty major blog support launching him to immediate contender status. Next comes this rad tune "GOLD" with Latin Grammy winning producer Ricky Remedy. The story goes that Ricky spent years trying to find just the right vocalist to turn this track past silver. JOHN.k heard Ricky was working nearby and decided to show up at his studio one day unannounced ready to work. Lucky for us they struck a quick relationship and thus "Gold" was born. With JOHN.k's beastly range and incredible falsetto matching up with Ricky's signature synthwork what more could we ask for?
FRND - MOVIES + IN YOUR DREAMS EP
Music, Original MixCommentWell the secret is out. The mysterious FRND has stayed ambiguous for months hiding behind the guise of a colorful Koala animation. But now with the release of his debut 'In Your Dreams' EP we've learned that FRND is none other than producer Andrew Goldstein, producer for a huge variety of big names including Britney Spears, Linkin Park, Robert Delong, Andrew Mcmahon, Celine Dion among others. I had the pleasure of seeing his debut live performance here in LA, and man I can't wait to see where this train keeps going. Our other writer Mike and I kept saying during his show that this music somehow brings us back about 10 years to the myspace days of Never Shout Never, Postal Service, and Hellogoodbye with the feel of indie rock meets electronica. Regardless the music is impeccably produced from start to finish and this latest single "Movies" is spot on again. With youth like exuberance and even children vox samples in the beginning FRND is definitely tying his music to that aesthetic, and we're totally ok with that. As the chorus drops in you can't help but bob your head. We hope there will be many more shows ahead as the EP continues to garner even more support across the web.
JOSHUA MORIARTY - R.T.F.L.
Music, Original Mix, PREMIERECommentJosh Moriarty who we at BB know well from his work with Miami Horror has launched into solo land with this first single "R.T.F.L." a sexy jam from a forthcoming 8 track album titled War Is Over. This tune has a lot to unfold with layers of group vocals filling in the backseat of a slow rolling musical Cadillac trudging forward into a hazy skyline of grooving percussion and somber pads. The beat really keeps things moving with pace as the Josh's vocal tone captures your interest. I love Josh's quote regarding the tune, "It is music to make you feel (at least for a moment) that you are not alone, to capture in aural form the ephemeral grace of existence. Yet, on the other hand the music is mere art for art’s sake, completely useless, beautiful for the sake only of beauty. A dichotomy of point and pointlessness. War Is Over is designed as a modern day opus of existential desire, longing, sensuality, and what it means to human." With the amount of feels packed into a short 3:57 I can assure you the point of this tune is simple desire.
[PREMIERE] JANELLE KROLL - BARRICADE (TYZO BLOOM REMIX)
Music, PREMIERE, RemixCommentJanelle Kroll has been crushing it lately. "Barricade" was a really cool tune with such an infectious wave of a melody on the lyric "Barricade" that just makes you smile. So I was pretty excited when I got sent another Tyzo Bloom remix of Janelle ripe for our ears. This remix starts rather ethereal with child like bells and piano whisking us away as we're launched into the familiar tropical marimba tones on top of bobbing sub. Tyzo makes ample use of vocal warps throughout the remix that sound not too distant from whistles. The original was light, even jovial and Tyzo has simply enhanced those feelings while making us feel warm inside.
