MAZDE - NEVERLAND (MEMBA & ARK PATROL REMIXES)

Music, RemixAlli LindseyComment

Electronic music is often portrayed as its own, stand-alone genre- specific to a certain crowd, following specific chord progressions and melodies. But, in recent years electronic production has influenced genres as niche as garage rock and heavy metal. Simply put, electronic music is changing the way the world listens to, and composes music. Stoney Roads Records' artist, Mazde confirmed this theory with the release of his single, "Neverland." The single was a collaborative track with Rhode Island rapper, Khary, combining two, seemingly different worlds, EDM and rap. As Mazde continues his European summer tour, he is rekindling his relationship with the 9 month old track by passing it on to two other producers for remixing. NYC duo, MEMBA and Seattle based, Ark Patrol stepped up to add their own, unique third dimension to "Neverland." MEMBA's treatment is self proclaimed as "cheeky." The twosome added a bangin' trap vibe, overflowing with pleasantly nasty turns and drops—it is dynamically hype. While MEMBA turned it into a slam dunk piece, Ark Patrol layered "Neverland" with a slower, deeper and darker resonance, putting emphasis on the conscious nature of its lyricism. It's safe to say that Mazde passed the torch to the proper artists for capitalization. Each remix possesses a distinctly different spirit, giving the original release the complimentary elements it deserves. Explore these polar yet plentiful remixes via Soundcloud, and keep your eyes peeled for a very special Mazde Buzzzmix coming soon.

ALEXANDER LEWIS & BRASSTRACKS - ALL OF THE LIGHTS

Music, CoverErin MaherComment

There are many days I feel like the "music industry" should be renamed to the "hustle industry" because we all live that hustle life. I've never met harder working individuals anywhere else, from artists to agents to managers to buyers, we all work 24-7 and never give up. If you don't know that hustle life, you're doing it wrong! Know who's doing it right tho ..... these two incredible artists riiiiight here! LA Producer Alexander Lewis and Brooklyn future bass duo Brasstracks combined their big brassy sounds on this cover of "All Of The Lights" and I am feeeeeling it. Both these rising stars have spent the past year on that strong hustle releasing one fire track after another, and we love supporting them every step of the way! This is the future of music, these are the guys breaking new ground. You can grab a free download HERE

THOREAU - BRONZE WHALE x POPESKA - IMAGINE FT. TOM ASPAUL (THOREAU REMIX)

Music, RemixAlli LindseyComment

Rising progressive house producer Thoreau just dropped his vibrant remix of "Imagine" by Bronze Whale and Popeska. While the original track received stellar feedback on its own, Thoreau's treatment is blazing trails for further success of the hit single. Heavy-hitting dance music faces a lot of criticism in the EDM community, primarily for stale repetition and predictable chord progression. Thoreau's spin of "Imagine" is direct proof that progressive house music can, and should be, a revered, multi-faceted take on electronic composition. This remix is tailor made for a summer night house party, or a shoes-off-at-home-shuffle-sesh. Its first major drop at 1:31 is a shock wave of dynamic, pulsating resonance. Thoreau has reshaped this already brilliant single into a stimulating, cleanly mixed dance party. This Boulder-based producer is changing the way the EDM-world looks at progressive house, as his artistic outlook on dance music is refreshing in an often over-saturated market. Get down with Thoreau and his latest remix via Soundcloud, sure to leave you feeling reanimated and recharged.

SWIMS - AM TO DM

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

I got started early on this beautiful San Francisco Friday morning! The sun is shining and it's above 65 degrees before 10am - and if you know anything about SF weather and June gloom - you know this is rare! What a perfect vibe for this next SWIMS track "AM to DM" -- they are "embracing a warmer sound to accompany the changing of the seasons" and I'm feeling it! SWIMS is made up of two Moving Castle legends, AObeats and SAKIMA, and together they produce magical pop/R&B electronic songs with smooth melodies and exquisite vocals. Swooning!

EMBRZ - HIGHER

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

Jack Casey, better known as EMBRZ, just dropped a down-tempo masterpiece, "Higher." This Ireland-based, self taught producer has already received stellar reviews on his latest track. I find it more than safe to say, the buzz is much deserved, as this romantic piece is both calming and energizing. "Higher" is engulfed by the sounds of gold with radiating, subtly chopped lyrics, and glowing expressionism. The track's warmth is transcended by a staggering build up at 2:00, leading into a final drop of sentiment and sunshine. This single was obviously crafted by a young musician with a passionate, charming spirit. "Higher" possesses a quixotic temper, that is soft and whimsical. Get with this amorous debut by adding it to your summer time Spotify playlist. Thank you EMBRZ.

SIOBHAN SAINTE - BURN IT DOWN

Music, Original MixEricComment

Sometimes we have the privilege of getting in early on certain acts, and we have high hopes for this budding indie pop songstress straight out of New Zealand. Siobhan Sainte is her name and if she keeps laying records like "Burn It Down" upon us, then we're sure you'll be hearing about her more. Produced by Andy Rosen (Meg Myers, Ofelia K), “Burn It Down” symbolizes the beginning for the 21 year old singer, and showcases her inimitable vision and talent fully devoid of cliché.  Represented by her love of film noir, haute couture and pop culture, Siobhan’s songs have a vintage feel of the 80s and 90s, but are modernized with a pure adrenaline rush.
