WINGTIP - NEED ME

Music, Original MixEricComment

Brooklyn via San Francisco growing disco breakout Wingtip is back with another upbeat dance floor heater in "Need Me," in anticipation for his set at Nocturnal Wonderland this weekend. "Need Me" starts rather simply with the vocals paving the way ahead of pads and piano. As the drumming bursts in, Wingtip features a reverse guitar line that he says has a "mournful and nostalgic" quality to it. Interesting take on what is an otherwise jovial tune, although I can definitely understand where he's coming from. A quick 3 minutes later the song is over and you have to listen 8 more times. "Need Me" is ready to make you boogie, and he's graciously provided it as a free download here.

GRYFFIN & BIPOLAR SUNSHINE - WHOLE HEART

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

It's always so exciting when we get to talk about our friends making big moves, and Gryffin is having quite a day! His second original single was released on Friday - but we didn't get it on Soundcloud until today. It's cool tho, we'll always support this Los Angeles legend and all the amazing music he puts into the world. "Whole Heart" is a fantastic future pop track featuring vocals by Bipolar Sunshine, and it's positive vibes have lifted my spirits -- love and warm feels for days. Can't stop smiling! Listen and Love!

BRIG - SUMMER MELANCHOLY

Music, Original MixHarrison MorganComment

The first time I heard of Brig was in 2013 when he released his Mutiny EP on Disciple Recordings. I can still vividly recall his signature island-esque synths making an imprint on my ear, and recognizing that it was an artist to be reckoned with. To my surprise, he just recently released a brand new EP called "Summer Melancholy", with the title track undoubtedly being the most powerful. Its refreshing future bass melodies are quite pleasing to the ear, and it's great to see that he still has that bouncy vibe in his music we all know and love. You can grab a free download of the new EP HERE!

SWEEKUH - HOW WE DO (FEAT. COSMOS & CREATURE) + MOLLY MOORE - JUST A DREAM FT. BRANDYN BURNETTE

Music, Original MixEricComment

Humor me for a second and lets do an SAT style relation. Kevin Hart is to the movie business, as Molly Moore and Brandyn Burnette are to the _________. A) Fashion Industry B) Music Industry C) Social Media Game D) All of the above. Correct Answer: D) All of the above it seems like these two are everywhere -  in my facebook newsfeed, always lookin' fly and putting out killer tunes. Well since there's been a lot for me to cover, I just decided to give you a double dose of tunes featuring these two talented songwriters, producers and vocalists. The first record is a really terrific tune from a BB repeat Sweekuh. We had the pleasure of premiering his remix of Molly Moore's "Piece of My Heart" last February, and he just released a new original this time adding Brandyn's vocals to the mix. The tune features acoustic guitar, a big catchy chorus and a dance drop that's a perfect blend of downtemp, tropical and future that goes down soo smooth. You can hear this record on iTunes and Spotify here.

The next record is the 2nd single from Molly's upcoming EP. She's already trending on Hype Machine at the moment for her Blu J X Indigenis' "Hallucinating Ft. Molly Moore" I'm going to keep the momentum going for Molly because she keeps putting out killer tunes! "Just A Dream" is an eclectic and thought provoking indie pop single with smatterings of ambient electronic elements, but mostly lead by terrific drumming, bass and vocals. This record pulls you into a dream state with the mysticism of the soundscape. A chilled out vibey single that's a perfect soundtrack for my descent into Fall. You can grab this release on iTunes here

PEGBOARD NERDS X NGHTMRE X KREWELLA - SUPERSTAR (THOREAU REMIX)

Music, Original MixEricComment

We're going to keep the momentum going for Thoreau who's having a hell of a month. From making the re-brand, to his first release (check out his "Low" remix) going #1 on Hype Machine, and now an official remix for electronic heavy hitters Krewella, Pegboard Nerds and NGHTMRE. By now you've probably already heard the original, but Thoreau has put his signature future bass sound on this hype anthem. Bursting open with piano and the "Superstar" vox chops, the track quickly builds into a larger than life bright flaring synth chorus with deep sub and the occasional fluttering arp. The record channels ahead and we're treated to a signature Thoreau guitar solo in the second chorus that keeps you locked in. Thoreau has quickly moved his career from walking to jogging, and if he keeps releasing tunes like this he'll be at top speed very soon.

SWEATER BEATS - BETTER FT. NICOLE MILLAR & IMAD ROYAL

Music, Original MixEricComment

One of our BB faves Sweater Beats just dropped his first original track in almost 2 years, and oh what a good one at that! Teaming up with Sydney's Nicole Millar, and growing industry aficionado Imad Royal, the three have constructed an electronic pop crossover that delights and enthralls. The hip hop percussion locks the beat down as strums of guitar, pulsing bass and flaring synths bob and weave our way through an incredibly infectious chorus proclaiming "I'll make you better." This tune is endearing, fun and hard hitting - pretty much everything you want in a record! Sweater Beats also just announced a slew of new dates for the "For The Cold" fall tour available on his website www.sweaterbeats.com and you can purchase this tune from Big Beat here

KRNE x ALEXANDER LEWIS - FALL APART

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Everyone get ready to throw your trap arms! Honestly this is just what I needed to end my day at the office before I head into that heavy traffic home. We've been big time supporters of both these young emerging artists, and they are back together again for another trap banger collab with "Fall Apart." With KRNE's distinctive low end sound and Alexander Lewis's live trombone work, this pretty much tops all our bass dreams. Grab that free download HERE!

DOOQU & ASHDOWN - DUST

Music, Original MixEricComment

Monday is a perfect day to blog this amazingly unique and creative record from Dooqu & Ashdown. This is the second collaboration from this twosome - check out our coverage of their first collab "Incompetent Competitions." They obviously found something that worked with the first record, and have followed it up nicely with this one "Dust." I really like this tune because it not only showcases each's prowess at songwriting, but also the teamwork that is built up through the vocals and production. The longing piano and pads combine with a quirky rising arp behind the first verse building us into an eclectic but nonetheless effective chorus. The synth shuffles down with intricate precision as the keenly placed vocals evolve into a terrific vocal chop. The chorus wobbles ahead as a repetitive bell sounds in the background flushing us back down into the second verse. Not exactly your weekend banger, but "Dust" is still sending chills down my spine. Out via Heroic Recordings you can get the stream or free download of "Dust" here
