EGZOD FT. CAITI PATTON - KEEP YOURSELF AWAY

Music, Original MixHarrison MorganComment

If it's one thing I've learned about myself over the years, it's that I'm a sucker for melodic dubstep. No matter how much time flies and how many new genres come into the picture, there's just something about it that makes me want to vibe out. EGZOD, a brand new up and comer from France, released his newest song "Keep Yourself Away" featuring Caiti Patton, and it reminds a lot of something MitiS or Adventure Club would do, with a fresh twist. While it's the first time I've heard of both artists, I can almost guarantee we'll see some more promising material moving forward.

CHRIS AVANTGARDE - ALL OF THE LIGHTS

Music, Original MixEricComment

So Insomniac, who I'm sure everyone who's reading this knows who they are, has put together a lil record label through Universal Music's Interscope imprint. Chris Avantgarde has blessed their catalogue with a cold as ice almost drum and bass record in "All Of the Lights." Cinematic, evolving, brooding, futuristic, expansive might be a few adjectives to describe the tune, but quite simply I'm going to go with EPIC. There's a lot of ear candy to enjoy in this tune from the arp melodies and string pads to the haunting vocals. It all comes together to burst into your ears with swirls of decadence. Take a second and dive into a record that I know you're going to enjoy. You can purchase and stream "All Of the Lights" on digital retailers here

ATTOM - AFTERGLOW

Music, Original MixEricComment

Following up on his debut release on MFN/Ultra Records with the upbeat "Better," Iowa City's electronic muse, Attom has given us the heavenly "Afterglow." Electing to smooth things out, "Afterglow" is a tremendously serene record that showcases the beautiful vocals of Ciele. Featuring a barrage of eclectic percussion, guitar and synth bobs, Attom wisps the record forward with easy bliss. This is just the kind of record to soar us out of summer and float us into fall. You can purchase "Afterglow" on all retailers here

[PREMIERE] BIG MAKK & SAGE ARMSTRONG - TOBASCO SAWCE

PREMIERE, Original Mix, MusicErin MaherComment

We lost a great friend this month, and the EDM world has been mourning. One of our brightest new stars Big Makk will be deeply missed. I never personally met this legend, but from what I have been told and the impact his sudden death has had on our community, he was one amazing human. Our next premiere is in celebration of this young producer's life. "Tobasco Sawce" by Big Makk & Sage Armstrong is featured on the 3rd volume of the Plates compilation series via Main Course - keeping the tradition of pure and simple house tracks made for the club. This track will be available as a fee download - however I encourage you to click this BUY button because ALL proceeds from this track will be donated in full to his family. RIP Big Makk ....

WIN AND WOO - RECOGNIZE (FT. ASHE)

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Like I would ever forget about my boys Win and Woo! Last week they dropped their first original track "Recognize ft. Ashe" and I swooned! We've been big supporters of this Chicago duo for a minute, so to share this milestone of the first original with them is super sweet! Granted, I am a few days late getting it on BB - but they know I always got their backs! Win and Woo deliver a perfect electro house dance pop track packed with soulful vocals from Ashe and feel good vibes! This is the good shit! Congrats guys - killed it!

FØRD - THE PIER (FT. WOODES)

Music, Original MixMike DooseComment

I met 19-year-old producer FØRD a few months ago at a music industry mixer in downtown LA. He’s super nice, and equally humble and ambitious. The young talent from Byron Bay, Australia isn’t even technically old enough to drink in the States, but he’s already well on his way to having a successful career in music. He’s got some really dope first few tracks, has been jetting across the Pacific for meetings and sessions in LA, and has even played ping pong with Flume already! This latest collab features a fellow Aussie - Melbourne-based singer/songwriter/ producer Woodes - and I’ve gotta believe was written about the Santa Monica Pier and the awe one feels when visiting Los Angeles for the first time. She sings, “Beige-colored kingdom of tall palms and white sand, green dollar bills…I can’t imagine what it’s like to fit in here.” LA definitely has a certain fairytale mystique to it. FØRD’s production certainly gives off calm beach vibes. I really dig his drums, there’s something about them that’s part hip hop, but also a little tribal. Couple that with Woodes’ soft and sensual vocals and you’ve got a perfect song for cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway with your significant other. I’m excited to see what’s next for FØRD, because he’s only getting better.

MELF - CRZY (FT. ALEXANDRA ROTAN)

Music, Original MixHarrison MorganComment

If you’re a fan of Flume then you are bound to love this new track from Oslo-based producer Melf. Always one to experiment with different sounds, Melf keeps you guessing all the way through this tune. A mixture of beautiful vocals from Alexandra Rotan and unexpected drops help this track stand out as a powerful contender in the progressive EDM world. This tune is bound to take you through some feelings and leave you wanting more. Released on the same day as the equally experimental ‘Guilty’, it seems that Melf is on the right track to bring us more awesome tracks.

FRND - FRIEND

Music, Original MixMike Doose2 Comments

Wow is it already September? That means school is back in session for millions of kids around the world, and it’s time for them to figure out who their friends will be this year. For new L.A. artist FRND, in debut track “Friend” he tells us he’s “good on friends” and he’s “already got enough of them.” This song is so catchy and definitely relatable. You know when you start singing along to a new song the first time you hear it because you feel like you already know it? This is one of those gems. Bouncy guitar sounds, sugary synths, and hooky as hell, “Friend” is a stellar debut from the mysterious new project - I personally can’t wait for more.

OPIA - SHADOW DANCES (CHRISTOFI REMIX)

Music, Original MixEricComment

Gotta give a little shout-out to MOONZz who had her EP release show last night and it was sickkk. She's got a bright future ahead can't wait to see her ascent. While I was there I happened to run into Jacob and Cole from Opia and we ended up chatting for a minute. This remix from Christofi was already in my queue for a review, but it's weird how life sends you coincidences sometimes! So now I'm even more excited to support this cut which is already climbing its way up the Hype Machine chart. "Shadow Dances" is already a fire hit check out our review of the original here, but Christofi has added a real touch of brilliance to the tune, spicing it up and making it into even more of a dance floor ready jam. With smatterings of guitar, pumping synths, a deep kick and groovy bass all coming together below Opia's soulful falsetto vocals, what more could you want in a disco, electro pop gem! Christofi has been throwin flame recently and we fully expect this heat streak to continue. You can download this fo FREE right here
