FOOL'S GOLD - NEW VIDEO (THE DIVE) & TOUR

[Your Name Here]Comment

When I think of the term "indie hipster bullshit" - this is what I think of.   Fool's Gold has just released a new video for "The Dive" - and I am hardly impressed...I am annoyed.   There is nothing special or different about this band, unless you want to cross a higher level calypso that most "tropical bands" are using with Vmapire Weekend, but even Vampire Weekend has more of an edge than this band.

And you don't actually have to be special or different for me to like what I hear, give me a Beatles rippoff or Holy Ghost dance like song any day of the week and I will enjoy it - but what you must have is an edge - and this is where Fool's Gold falls flat for me.

For years now I have seen this band at shows, and I just can't get into it - if I wanted to listen to a hippie band I would go see Phish - at least then I can escape the boredom have my mind blown at the same time.

However, they serve a purpose and are impressing lots of people, so more power to you Fool's Gold! Who am I to judge really.... They will be on tour this may - so get out to a show and you be the judge!

NEW VIDEO: RUDIMENTAL - FEEL THE LOVE (FT. JOHN NEWMAN)

[Your Name Here]Comment

I am blog browsing today, checking in with fellow music enthuiast like myself from all over the world, and I have found some really great stuff so far....but this....this is amazing!!

Rudimental has just released a new video for his soon to be summer smash song "Feel The Love" and I totally lost my mind!   It does not get much better than mixing soul vocals with dance music, throw in horses and gangsters - amazing!!

I love finding new artists, and Rudimental has just made my day! Listening further I hear some Ed Sheeran remixes that I love because Ed is my man!!   I really like this flavour, it's like a mellow soulful dubstep that does not hurt my brain!   There are a ton of gigs all over the UK this summer, so check it out!  Feel the love!!

IF I WERE GOING TO COACHELLA.....I WOULD......

Why am I not going to Coachella - I don't really have a great answer - I should be going, and I still could....but the idea of spending 3 days and nights in the heat, or in the rain it looks like for weekend one - I don't know....maybe I just want to hang out with my dog and save myself $1000 bucks when I have already seen most of the bands, or I will see them in the near future.   Call me crazy.....

However, if I were going to Coachella either weekend, I would see the following:

NEW MUSIC: VAN SHE - IDEA OF HAPPINESS

[Your Name Here]Comment

Here is another indie pop gem from down under! Van She has given the world - or at least Australia for now - a new song called "Idea Of Happiness".   This is a good song, follows all the pop rules and is a pleasure to listen to.   But the video for this new song is fucking amazing!   I think I might actually know this guy....I have for sure run into him on the west side of LA!

Van She have a new record coming out - July 6 in Australia, July 9 in the UK and Eurpoe and July 10 in the US.   Really looking forward to hearing more net tunes from this band!

NEW MUSIC: WINTERSLEEP - RESUSCIATE

[Your Name Here]Comment

Time to get trendy!   Wintersleep are a Pitchfork, Flaverpill, MTV, all the trendy blogs that are harder to get your music on than Rolling Stone it seems, kind of band.   To me, this means a band that is really nothing special but have money from a label to have a great PR company push, money for radio (dirty dirty corrupt radio), and money to buy onto tours with bigger name bands and not get paid only making money off of merch.....however, I do not want to be too quick to judge.

If I am putting it up here, there must be something but I am still not 100% sold on this band.   One saving grace, they have been a band for 10 years!   This means they know each other better which makes a better live show, they have a tighter live set, and know the ups and downs of the business....and most likely have been through the shit once or twice already!

Their new album Hello Hum drops June 12 via Roll Call Records/ILG, and they have just released their new single from that album called "Resusciate".   I don't hate it, but I don't love it, but I need to see a live show to make a decision.   Until then, you can decide for yourself!

NEW VIDEO: TOTALLY ENORMOUS EXTINCT DINOSAURS - TAPES & MONEY

[Your Name Here]Comment

It's Monday....anyone else feel like dancing??   Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs has got your back with a fresh new video for single "Tapes & Money".   It may be a mouth full to say, but it's so easy to listen to, and dance and dance!!

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs has quickly established himself as a singular and visionary new artist who is sparking interest worldwide.   YouTube views of his “Garden” video exceed 2.5 million and he was recently invited by Damon Albarn to record with him in the Congo.   His live shows swing between overt musicality and scarily on-point dance floor intuition, tearing up gigs around the globe with his live show of bizarre instruments, glitter cannons and of course… dancing dinosaurs.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs will release his debut album Trouble on June 12th on Casablanca Records.

There are a few tour dates scheduled:

5/03 - Chicago, IL - Berlin
