NEW VIDEO: AM & SHAWN LEE - TWO TIMES

Erin MaherComment

AM & Shawn Lee release their sophomore album, La Musique Numérique today via Park The Van Records!  French for “digital music,” La Musique Numerique is a sun-filled, space-funk masterwork that blends early digital technology with decade-blurring songwriting and hints of disco, funk, soul and reggae.  Full of danceable beats and memorable hooks, the album is  now available via iTunes and other digital and physical retailers.

La Musique Numerique opens with single “Two Times,” giving a tip of the hat to Sleng Teng Riddim's technological origin: the Casio MT-40 keyboard.  The duo’s new video for the track features an eclectic mix of video footage, with appearances from some of the band’s musical icons.

Erin MaherComment

The Friday Night Flake!  Everyone's got one...you know who I'm talking about.  It's that friend who's available all week but, come Friday, he's nowhere to be found.  Bromance, romance, or casual encounter, your weekday buddy puts up a "Do Not Disturb" sign on Friday nights.  Is it all in your head?  Or does he have some extra special Friday plans the world is just not ready for?  French Horn Rebellion have teamed up with their  buddy, Viceroy to figure out just where he may be with new single "Friday Nights." Remix package includes versions by Jessie Andrews, Rush Midnight, and Bronx.  Be prepared and dance and grove all the way to Friday night with this new EP!

NEW MUSIC: VICETONE FEAT. COLLIN MCLOUGHLIN - HEARTBEAT (CASH CASH REMIX)

Erin MaherComment

Cash Cash are at it once again, bringing us another mind blowing dance hit remix!  They have put their tasty spin on "Heartbeat" from Vicetone which also features Collin McLoughlin.  Seriously, these Jersey boys bring it hard without being overly obnoxious.... nothing worse than obnoxious dance music!!  Cash Cash combine the perfect amount of builds and drops with a dash of drama - if you don't move your ass while listening to this track, there is something wrong with you!  Want more - the Cash Cash soundcloud page is full of delicious goodies for your listening pleasure - go HERE!

NEW MUSIC: GLASS TOWERS - HALCYON

Erin MaherComment

It's time for Austrailan indie pop hour!  Once again I can talk about another amazing band from down under - and Glass Towers are no strangers to the gang over here at Beautiful Buzzz!  We invited them to come play our SXSW show (which they ended up having to cancel, we were very bummed) and we world premiered their video for single "Tonight" which you can check out HERE!

Glass Towers are back with a banger of a new single with "Halcyon" - filled with edgy rock riffs and pop filled dance beats, I continue to fall more in love with this band with every new song I hear!  They are playing a few shows with The Kooks in Australia, and I really hope they will be making their way over to the states soon!  Well done!!

NEW VIDEO: ANDRE OBIN - THE ARSONIST

Erin MaherComment

On a morning like this, where I have one million emails to answer and I just poked my eye pretty bad, a new video from Boston electronic artist Andre Obin is just what the doctor ordered!  I LOVE this song, the video, not so much.... we have seen it before, but that's not the point really.  A video is just another way to get the song heard, and the song is amazing!  This little angel played the Beautiful Buzzz showcase this year at SXSW - I accidently found him through another band who knew another band that knew him!  His live set is bananas, and he also has a live band which I did not get to see but I am sure it's just fantastic!  Andre Obin just released his new full length record The Arsonist which you can pick up on iTunes HERE!  Get into it!

WHAT NATE SAYS: NEW VIDEO: POLYTYPE - CYCLONE

Erin MaherComment

Nate is a young musician living in the bay area who has something to say about Polytype

At the beginning of Polytype’s new single it’s hard to tell whether they are trying to be Nine Inch Nails or Daft Punk, but with further listen it’s very clear these guys know exactly who they are.  "Cyclone" is a beautiful union of where indie music is coming from and where it is going, and as much as it fits in the lineage of great bands of the past, it sounds very much 2013.  It’s easy for bands today to fall into the category of generic indie, but with this single Polytype are saying ‘we’re aware of the trends, but we’re not riding the wave, we’re creating our own wave’.  Mason Porter’s subtle and airy vocal approach, flirts with the Indie Noir trend that bands like The Neighbourhood and Sir Sly are pushing while still maintaining a sound wholly his own.  Jason Gibby’s choppy sampling is evocative of what Trent Reznor is doing with How to Destroy Angels, but less broody.  The whole track is a triumph!  Check out the new video for "Cyclone."
