Aaaahhhhh - Nu-Disco on this rather stressful Monday - just what I needed!! Vancouver based producer Pat Lok has done it again with his new track "Needy" and it could not have come at a better time! Taken from the Vitalic Noise press release - "Needy" has all of the dance floor sensibilities of Pat's previous releases, with exquisitely melancholy vocals over a piano-driven house beat that will have you chasing a new unrequited love. Thanks guys - could not have said it better myself. You can pick up this new EP on Beatport HERE!
CITY CALM DOWN - PAVEMENT
CommentIf there is any band in the world I would want to see - it would be City Calm Down ..... for real! I have been pretty much stalking them for a few years now, begging them to come to the states and play my shows, and they just keep telling me no! Then they like to taunt me by releasing new singles like their latest "Pavement" - I mean ...... come on guys!! They probably think it's hilarious, oh haha - that silly girl in California with a blog thinks we are awesome, and we keep her on a very short string, dangling our awesome songs in front of her from time to time. Fuck you CIty Calm Down! Just because your dark electro tracks are pretty much the best thing ever does not mean you can treat me this way. One day City Calm Down, one day I will finally get to smooch your faces at one of my shows, and I'll steal your hearts just like you did mine!
Fucking brilliant - as usual... :-)
NORTHEAST PARTY HOUSE - THE HAUNTED
CommentNot gonna lie - I missed this one last month! Melbourne based electro-pop dance band Northeast Party House released a new single "The Haunted" in March. I would just like to say that it came out the week of SXSW - so there is my excuse - I had 4 days and nights of showcase and 90 bands to look after, I was busy, I missed it! However, it's still very relevant - the new Northeast Party House album Any Given Weekend drops May 16 and you can pre-order that bad boy HERE! This is HUGE - really looking forward to this one kids!! Get your dance on!
YEO - KOBE
CommentIt's been a minute since we talked Australian electro-pop, my most favorite kind of pop! So, I'm going to focus heavily on fresh jams coming from down under for the rest of the afternoon - not gonna lie, this is the best idea I have had all day! Meet Yeo - he is a young producer from Melbourne and, ummmmmm, people should really be talking about this kid more! His new track "Kobe" has been on repeat for the last 30 minutes, and each listen I fall more and more in love. Yeo is your future favorite live electronic artist! He's going to be one of those super cool bands playing Coachella in a few years. I mean it - industry peeps out there, listen up! This shit is gold! Looks like he'll be heading to North America for Canadian Music Week for a few shows next month - if I could I would grab Yeo for one of my NY shows in 2.5 seconds - maybe I'll have to look into that! Bananas!
BEN KHAN - 1992 EP
CommentI am so into this idea of young british white boys singing soul filled vocals over dark indie electro beats - this is the AWESOME side of pop. Welcome Ben Khan! How can the world not be ready for live electronic music! There is quite a but of buzz surrounding Ben Khan at the moment - he even was named "Best New Artist" by Pitchfork (which for once I actually agree with) - so I'm thinking that his new 1993 EP is something you must listen to ASAP! Hello "Drive (Part 1)" - I'm swooning over this track! Get some!
CESARE - TOO LATE FEAT. RIKKE LIE
CommentYo - summer is coming! It may be raining buckets in San Francisco today, but the sun shines with this new piece of tropical goodness from Cesare. Who the fuck is Cesare? Besides being an awesome producer from Brazil, I don't know much about him either. What I do know is he's done some pretty amazing remixes which we have talked about in the past, and this track "Too Late" feat. Rikke Lie is RAD! Cesare may be new on the scene, but he has his big boy pants on - so get involved and download this track for free - you'll be the envy of all your friends for finding the first awesome track for your summertime soundtrack!
BUZZZMIX VOL. 4 - SEEKAE (IN LIMBO)
CommentI knew we were going to get something special when Seekae handed in their BUZZZMIX - and this is crazy good! I met Seekae at SXSW this year - they played my showcase - The Green Room - to a packed house.......bananas! After watching that live set, it was only obvious that they would bring something creative and different to the table for a mixtape. This is not a 4 am disco dance party after hours mixtape - this is something you feel - this is when you get out the headphones, lay on the couch, and get lost into amazingness. Download the BUZZZMIX VOL. 4 - SEEKAE - titled IN LIMBO as its quite a strange mix of tracks! Brilliant!

CommentI'm in a indie pop mood today! A delicious little diddy from DC based band Brett - they just released their new single "Golden" and I'm so OK with this!! These synths pop! And yea, I wanna get high - thanks for asking Brett! I'm feeling all warm and happy from the fuzzy vocals and swirly synths, it's like candy for my ears! The further I get into this reack the better I feel, and after my not so fun day, Brett is putting a smile on my face! Debut LP drops May 20 which you can preorder HERE!
