JORDAN RAKEI - TALK TO ME

I love discovering tracks like this. We cover a lot of electronic music at BB, but first and foremost we strive to cover good music, and damn we have a golden beam of musical bliss right here from Jordan Rakei. If you're not familiar with him yet you might know him from his work with Disclosure on "Masterpiece." Where do I start, the beginning is somewhat simplistic with ambient textures of jazz piano puffing billows of sound around the enthusiastic percussion and droning bass. As Jordan's mellifluous vocals persuade us into his world of "fake reality" we are moved, turned and coaxed along this musical journey. The end comes far too quickly with an african sounding vocal hook at the end with crescendos of harmony that leave you feeling chills. I saw a debut album is coming June 3rd? Well I definitely can't wait. 

[PREMIERE] ASHWORTH - A THOUSAND MILES

Welcome to another fantastic Tuesday of releases with a total gem right here from New York's Ashworth. A newcomer to the BB pages, this bassoonist, vocalist and multi instrumentalist has created a fantasticly upbeat take on Vanessa Carlton's 2000's smash hit. Riding a great line between house and tropical vibes reminiscent of Sam Feldt, which I would highly recommend checking out his awesome Sam Feldt cover of 'Been A While' here. He's sped the pace up over the original with that classic piano line, upbeat strings, jovial melodic synths and smooth rhythm combining to give us a spring board of tropical dance goodness. His vocals put us at ease and turn this track into an instant favorite. We're excited for the many good things ahead for this talented producer. Such a great way to start my day!

JACK GARRATT - SURPRISE YOURSELF (GRYFFIN + MANILA KILLA REMIX)

I have this feeling like today is going to be a long day! When I wake up and my dogs are lying on me in such a way that I cannot get out of bed without struggling to be released from their hold, it's usually their super puppy powers trying to tell me I would be better off just staying in bed. That just happened! So, I figured starting the day off with some of my homies getting together making sweet jams is the best way to go, because at least I have power over that! Gryffin and Manilla Killa drop this very cool collab remix of "Surprise Yourself" by Jack Garratt that has vibes for days! Packed full of synthy beats and broken rhythms, this remix is dance floor fire! I hope it makes your day fabulous!

JERRY FOLK - I'M HONESTLY NOT A GANGSTER

Yess new Jerry Folk in my Soundcloud stream means happy smiles and good vibes on a Monday! The title is pretty self explanatory of the kind of record you're going to get with this one. A smooth indie dance record with groovy synth stabs, snappy high hat work, fluid synth melodies and even a background sidechained water sample. The vocals fit perfectly with the flow of the record topping the track off with a splash of half sung, half spoken word goodness. You can get that free DL here. 

BRASSTRACKS - GOOD LOVE FT. JAY PRINCE

I am so about this funky vibe on this early chilly Monday morning - it's the perfect way to start of the day! We kinda go bananas over Brasstracks - the genres they are crossing to create a fantastic new breed of electronic music is creative and ground breaking, and this new track "Good Love ft. Jay Prince" raises the bar! Combining funk, jazz, hip-hop, R&B,future and bass - Brasstracks slays this new original! Jay Prince was featured at our SXSW show this year as well, and his smooth funky hip-hop vocals are gold! This one you definitely cannot pass up! Listen and love!

FILOUS - FEEL GOOD INC. (GORILLAZ COVER)

This one flew under my radar, and I feel that is MUST be heard! There is another soundcloud glitch in the world of what is the soundcloud headache - and that is if a track is released on a big label, it's uploaded to soundcloud in the same way as iTunes or Spotify, so when the track goes live it is not re-uploaded to look like a fresh track - looks old. For example, this amazing filous cover of "Feel Good Inc." by Gorillaz dropped two days ago, yet the soundcloud player right now says it's 17 days old! Normally I would have passed putting this track up because it's too old ... but I decided to look closer because I love filous and could not believe I missed this! All these things make life a bit more annoying because I just have to waste time checking when tracks are actually released, but when you have music like this being put into the world I can't complain too much! filous is rad, this NEW cover is rad, and you can grab it from iTunes HERE!  

JAI WOLF - DRIVE (FT. CHAIN GANG OF 1974)

Watching Jai Wolf raise to success has been such a pleasure! 2 years ago I was begging the festivals and promotions companies I was buying for to put Jai Wolf on shows - and some followed my lead while others passed! Now he's selling out big rooms across the US! So awesome! This week our homie dropped his next highly anticipated original track "Drive ft. Chain Gang of 1974" and we are swooning! Both artists have played BB shows in the past, so this pairing makes us very happy! Kamtin's vocals resonate with eerie beauty among swirly melodies and future feels - Jai Wolf nailed it once again! [PREMIERE] LIL WAYNE - A MILLI (Y2K REMIX)

Our love Y2K just dropped a huge remix, and I'm super psyched to have the premiere for this one! His version of "A Milli" by Lil Wayne is siiick! When we started supporting this Los Angeles producer, it was known that he would eventually be making big moves, and over the past year he's been so on point with all the thing he's put out into the world. THROTTLE - MONEY MAKER

OK!! It's time for a track that I have been absolutely stoked to bring to you! From rising disco phenom Throttle comes a total dance floor heater "Money Maker." Bring out the disco balls, light up floors, LED lights, neon bracelets and get ready to boogie cuz this track is a total summer anthem! Throwing spritely feel good piano, horns, funky guitar, groovy bass and of course a James Brown vocal sample from "Get Up (I Feel Like Being A Sex Machine)," Throttle has given us a record that is smash from the second you hit play.
