THE KNOCKS - TROUBLE (FEAT. ABSOFACTO) [LIONE REMIX]

Well these are two names that are frequent arrivals on our pages, and for good reason. The Knocks have continued to just put out amazing tunes over the years including this rad original "Trouble" from the Testify EP featuring up and comer Absofacto who we recently heard from with his original "Light Outside". Well now we've got another up-and-comer LIONE on remix duties with a bright and sparkly rendition that further energizes the original. LIONE has been making waves over the last year or so with some quality breakout remixes, and he can add this one to the list. So dive in and enjoy! DEORRO - GOOD EVENING (FULL ALBUM MIX)

Holy shit this album is good. I mean really good. It took me a while to finally get around to playing this through in its entirety, but I couldn't let this opportunity slide away without a BB post. I don't think Deorro has made it onto our pages before, and while we definitely try and support the little guys over prime time successes like Deorro, I just couldn't not post this album. I have tremendous respect for the diversity of the LP while it still retains a lot of the characteristically Deorro sound that has brought him to the top. This is simply 51 minutes of goodness and you all better take notes. Deorro is setting the bar really high for 2017, and I'm not sure we'll see much better. DROELOE - SEE THROUGH ME

I recently did 2 shows with these legends, one in Austin at SXSW and another in San Francisco  - both were sold out ragers and both were fun as hell. Now officially BB boyfriends, DROELOE will always have a place on these pages, a spot on my stage and a piece of my heart! They just dropped a new one "See Through Me" via bitbird that is so much fire, and I am loving all the things about it! DNMO & SUB URBAN - BROKEN

Hey now! Look who's back with another super tasty track! My favorite emerging UK producer DNMO teamed up with Sub Urban to create "Broken" and hi ... I'm swooning. This year I feel like DNMO will be the kid I go on and on about because his bass heavy sound is something pretty special. It's almost like he's not trying to be one of the cool kids, just making music that sounds like everything else. He has his own vibe, and for me this is where the real magic happens. Best part is he's just a wee lad - spending his teen years in his bedroom making beats, and I for one am glad he does! Don't worry - the word is already out and industry has taken notice .... now it's your turn to be on the cutting edge by swooping this one HERE!  

TEFLON SEGA - DELETED CONVERSATIONS (PROD BY WAJU X TEFLON SEGA)

In his latest release "Deleted Conversations", Cleveland's Teflon Sega weaves an intoxicating R&B saga into immersive electronic production that sweeps you up in emotion like a river that wont let go. Co-produced with WAJU, the track reflects on the emotional weight that infatuation and love force us to bear, exposed through electronic bits of texts that are forever erased with a simple swipe of a finger. SHALLOU - BEGIN FT. WALES

I am a sucker for all the dreamy electro-pop, and this young artist out of Chicago is kinda making my day! Shallou released his latest single "Begin ft. Wales" last week, and thankfully I came across it today because it's extra dreamy. With a steady dance beat and synthy melodies, Shallou combines light sounds, floaty textures and soothing harmonies, it makes me feel like dancing under a waterfall of glitter. [PREMIERE] LEO STANNARD X FRANCES - GRAVITY (LUCA SCHREINER REMIX)

While this week has brought no shortage of high profile new releases from the likes of massive artists like Kendrick Lamar and Frank Ocean and indie stars like Sweater Beats and Bishop Briggs, I’ve got a premiere for you today that I hope makes new fans out of BB readers of some names that are new to me as well. 

When this remix found it’s way into my inbox I wondered how I hadn’t heard of Leo Stannard, Frances, or Luca Schreiner yet. The caliber of the original artists’ voices and the polished contemporary bounce of the production exemplify what’s great about new music these days. I would show this track to people who argue that there’s no good music coming out now. "Gravity" is just a great song with catchy pop songwriting, smooth vocals from Stannard and Frances who are both from the UK (naturally), and it’s full of happy vibes, an ode to the one person that is always there for you, your ride or die, or as Leo puts it, your ‘Gravity’. Young German producer Luca Schreiner, whose tropical deep house crossovers we’ve actually supported in the past, has managed to put a little pep into it and make it dance floor friendly while still preserving the original’s impact as an uplifting pop anthem. 

Speaking on this remixing effort, Luca told us, “With this remix it was all about keeping the dreamy yet beautiful vibe of the original and giving it a ‘modern’ type of electronic sound. I also wanted to include more natural instruments so I added the horn elements, which has become a trademark sound of my last several productions. The key was to not whitewash Leo and Frances’ amazing vocals: it was more important to add unique sounds to complete an already amazing sonic picture.”

[PREMIERE] MAKO - WISH YOU BACK FT. KWESI (NOTD REMIX)

We're squeezing this last minute premiere in today, because MAKO is bananas good and this NOTD remix of "Wish You Back ft. Kwesi" is delicious. The Hourglass Remix EP drops at the end of the month, and today NOTD hands us this delightful pop gem that is giving off the feel good vibes through the headphones. With chill melodies and a touch of future pop feels, NOTD eases us into our afternoon with a happy little love song of loss and regret, who knew that was even possible! Ha!
