LIL SKIES - NOWADAYS (SNUGS REMIX)

Despite contemporary rap music being frequently criticized by old-heads for not channeling Tupac and Biggie, today’s take on hip-hop actually works as a curtain call for collaboration and creative restoration. Our favorite little blue booger, Snugs, composed of two multi-talented musicians who manipulate organic electronic production, have returned with their novel remix of Lil Skies’ “Nowadays.” Capitalizing on Lil Skies’ melodramatic flow, and rolling hip-hop cadence, Snugs gives “Nowadays” a vibrant treatment that redefines the mantra of the original piece. Using elements of spacious, radiating synth, the duo repaints the frame of “Nowadays” with pastel colors while lightning strikes between each note. A stellar balance of indie-electronic, and modern-urban flow, this flip is an interstellar rework that bumps with ease. The time has come .... GOLDROOM High Seas tour is back to make all your summer time dreams come true! Once again we'll be on a boat in the bay with our favorite deep house nu-disco legend on July 14 - Pier 3 - San Francisco. Boarding begins at 5pm, and we set sail at 6pm sharp to enjoy a sunset cruise on the San Francisco Belle.  Be on time because the boat will leave without you! KAILEE MORGUE - F**K U

Vocalist Kailee Morgue is rapidly rising to pop stardom. Roping in listeners with her 2017 hit single Medusa, the singer is making a statement with her latest release, "F**k U." The pop, yet soulful track is lined with acoustic chords and subtle percussion, both of which are topped with a mellow melody that you'll quickly find gets stuck in your head. What I love most about this single is how soft and simplistic the production is, which is an utter paradox to Kailee's bitter and all too relatable lyrics that call out a past lover. Simultaneously, because of the song's subtlety and easygoing vibe, Kailee's silvery vocals are accentuated, giving her the ability to get her "I'm tired of your bullsh**t" message across, extra loud and extra clear. 

[PREMIERE] MANILA KILLA & KIDSWASTE - TONIGHT FT. CHELSEA CUTLER (KWON EDIT)

It's another Monday full of rad music .... and today's premiere is the perfect way to start things off on the right foot! Kwon is one of our favorite rising stars, and he just handed us a delicious remix of "Tonight ft. Chelsea Cutler" by Manila Killa & Kidswaste. This LA producer has created chill vibes layering light souring synthy melodies with dreamy vocals and future pop beats - I'm totally feeling this one!  I see big things in the future for Kwon, keep your eyes and ears on this one!  

CHERRY BEACH - GRAVITY

LA-based duo Cherry Beach are striking gold with their brand new single out on Lowly Palace, "Gravity." Combining their musical dexterity with that of brilliant singers/songwriters Victoria Zaro and Ryan Feinberg, "Gravity" is an overly appealing mix of uplifting pop and electronic elements. The single meets resolve through a lining of acoustic guitar riffs that set the foundation for a harmony that perfectly supports Victoria's vocals. If you're like me and can't wait another minute till summer, then take a listen to this one. You'll feel as if the warm sunshine is already upon you.

MAC DEMARCO - CHAMBER OF REFLECTION (MICKEY KOJAK COVER)

The viceroy smoking, gap toothed, skater-boy, Mac Demarco is one of the most prominent figures in contemporary indie-rock music by any standard. His cult-like following, and general energy is fearless, and flamboyant with grit, so covering the legend is no easy feat. But, Sydney’s multi-instrumentalist producer and singer, Mickey Kojak is challenging the notion that legends’ music should be left unmarked. His dusty-chrome production, and breathy vocals are sent through an AM-radio-esque filter, as he executes a cover of Mac’s “Chamber Of Reflection.” Mickey plays each instrument, produces each note, and uses his own innate gift of vocal excellence to redefine the original track. While remaining true the OG piece, Mickey inks his signature unto the melody- slowing its cadence, and ripening its meaning with a soft, introspective 80s-style synth. This cover is distinctively sensual, yet remains easy-going and playful. This Aussie cutie took a little piece of my heart with this cover- keep him on your radar, because this track proves his musicianship is teetering at the tipping point. Catch you on the other side.

AUTOGRAF - DEAD SOON (CHILL MIX) FT. LILS & BONSAI MAMMAL

Autograf is at it again with their very own rendition of their original "Dead Soon" featuring vocalist Lils and fellow producer Bonsai Mammal. In this mellow version, they tone down the energy, and swap out the lively Deadmau5-like synths with mellow and colorful bubbling sounds, while layering the piece with faded, shadowy vocals. The duo's versatility is undeniable as they manage to shift the aesthetic completely, causing the OG "Dead Soon" to sound like an entirely new song - one that is just as authentic as the initial release.  The mystifying chill mix will assuredly leave you in a state of serenity, something we can all use from time to time.

Can summer just get here already? I'm kinda  getting tired of being cold all the time - a problem many bay area people struggle with!  This new jam from Gryffin is bringing some sunny summer vibes to warm up my spirit, and I'm feeling it!
