EKALI & MEDASIN - FOREVER FT. ELOHIM

Music, Original MixAlli LindseyComment

2018’s most handsome collaboration goes to none other than Ekali and Medasin in their latest joint single, “Forever” featuring multi-instrumentalist super-babe, Elohim. Both Ekali and Medasin have undergone massive transitions in the last year- from an adored underground EDM scene, to playing festivals as prominent as Coachella and garnering support from Billboard Dance. Their synergistic, humble attitudes and hunger for innovation shine in “Forever,” allowing the track to stand as a prototype for their respective EDM sub-genres. Charming piano riffs delicately complement Elohim’s sultry, gritty psalms, while Ekali and Medasin manipulate a signature ebb and flow of experimental future-bass. This rousing piece is well-rounded, subtly  romantic, and riddled with enchantment. As Ekali and Medasin continue their pursuits in their solo careers, “Forever” will stand as a pillar for their careers as creators. This three-piece dynamic is unparalleled and unafraid- stay tuned for more from these revolutionary visionaries.

[PREMIERE] BJÖRK - SUN IN MY MOUTH (MARCIOZ REMIX)

Music, PREMIERE, RemixAlli LindseyComment

Artistic, inspired, and seductively allusive, Brazil’s fearless electronic producer Marcioz is back with a brooding remix of Björk’s 2001 single, “Sun in My Mouth.” Rewiring the digital princess is no easy feat, but Marcioz’ inventive aesthetic frames him as the prototype curtain call for flipping Björk. Sensually spooky, Marcioz stays true to the legendary songstress while simultaneously tattooing his algorithmic, electro-production onto her fairytale-esque aura. A vast, microcosmic world of its own is built around calculated instrumentation and true artistry in this flip. Both rustic and futuristic, Marcioz’ signature vision is coming to fruition with ease and innovation- watch this space.

"When I first heard Sun in My Mouth, I immediately thought about adding my style into the piece. I first heard it when I was walking and hearing Vesperatine (which would later become my favorite album). I only heard the beginning of it, because I only wanted to hear it fully once I finished working on my version of the composition. I personally really liked the ending result and thought it was a good way to make a subtle comeback to electronic music composition, but without taking an obvious path towards any genre." - Marcioz

PLVTINUM - C'EST LA VIE

Music, Original MixEricComment

The energy of festival season is upon us, and my musical state of being has been thirsting for the summer jams. So when I came across this new tune from PLVTINUM I was immediately amped to get it up on the pages of BB. The production on this track is sonically great with top notch mixing laying the groundwork for a catchy pop hook that falls into a tropical style chorus with vocal chops and woah's that could brighten up even the dreariest of days. Ces't La Vie if you're unfamiliar, is the phrase meaning essentially "that's life" and the lyrics mirror a crazy night in Vegas. When shit hits the fan maybe it's easier to relax and just proclaim...C'est La Vie and let this song drift your cares away.

BRONZE WHALE - PATTERNS

Music, Original MixSara NatkinsComment

After a long day of work, you simply need to relax before you gather your strength for yet another long, energy-consuming day that will follow. For me, music is the only thing I find soothing enough to aid in my recuperation. That's why when I stumbled upon Bronze Whale's brand new release, "Patterns," I was more than relieved. Having been a follower of the Austin-based duo, comprised of Benny Alley and Aaron Jaques, for years now, it's been quite a treat to watch these guys grow in both their talents and sound. I find their latest especially unique as it showcases 1/2 of BW, Benny's vocal skills, and I can sincerely say, I am far from unimpressed. Between the cerebral tone of his voice, and the calming, yet uplifting crisp production that flows around it, I gotta say - this track is a 10/10 in my book.

TASKA BLACK - IN YOUR EYES (FT. AYELLE)

Original Mix, MusicSara NatkinsComment

Taska Black and Ayelle have officially proven that together, they are a force to be reckoned with. Following their previous collaboration, "Dead Inside," the Dutch producer and London-based vocalist have united their skillsets for yet another "fire" (pun fully intended) hit titled "In Your Eyes." The bitbird label signee's latest features a powerful chorus imbued with harmonic synths serving as the cornerstone for the song. The production effortlessly coalesces with Ayelle's glossy vocals, generating a result that leaves us absolutely breathless.

KYGO - FIRESTONE (JUSTICE SKOLNIK REMIX)

Taylor FayComment

Who doesn’t love a good switch up? Norwegian producer, Kygo has been garnering some serious attention since his 2014 release, “Firestone.” With over 560 million streams as of August 2017, he’s no stranger to international recognition. San Francisco producer, Justice Skolnik effortlessly reworks this crowd favorite with unique manner and energetic tempo. The up-and-coming producer takes a hybrid approach to dance music, while remaining true to Kygo’s tropical house feel. Skolnik has been building a repertoire remixing other classics including Flume’s 2012, “Sleepless” and Kanye West’s 2007, “Good Life” making him one of the artists to watch in 2018.

[PREMIERE] AIRE ATLANTICA - THINGS I HATE ABOUT U (FT. TZAR)

PREMIERE, Music, Original MixMike Doose1 Comment

This ish goes harddd! So incredibly stoked and honored to get to premiere this track for you today. It immediately intrigues you from the beginning and picks up energy gradually as Tzar starts to air out her feelings toward her love/hate relationship partner. And then Aire Atlantica’s commanding production envelops you and begins to take hold over every part of your body and mind that responds to bass. The snappiest of trap snares crack over a swaying hip hop beat with an assortment of rich synth chords guiding the melodic line. Vocal chops provide striking moments of expression as staccato accents on Tzar’s legato lyric delivery. By all of this, what I’m really trying to say is that Aire goes IN on this track and I hope to see this live on a massive sound system at some point, but for now my headphones will do just fine.

OUT CAME THE WOLVES - 96 (MIELO REMIX)

Music, RemixSara NatkinsComment

Ever wanted to hear your dream combo of emo and electronic music? Well I have. Chicago-based artist Mielo brings on the nostalgia of the old school screamo and punk music glory days with his brand new remix of “96” by Out Came The Wolves. His brilliant harmonies intertwine almost effortlessly with OCTW’s chords, creating an amalgamation that is nothing short of addicting. With this year’s Warped Tour right around the corner, we couldn't have asked for this track to come at a better time.
