LEMON BLUE- FIRST LIGHT

Taylor FayComment

Sometimes we're lucky enough to experience awe-inspiring moments that motivate us to bring beauty into the world ourselves. Our man Trevor Coulter, better known as Lemon Blue just released his new single “First Light” in homage to a feeling experienced at a sunrise set during the Global Eclipse Gathering. Inspired by sound design, he blends organic and synthetic elements to create sounds and spaces that feel familiar and nostalgic, while rendering a new experience. It’s progression moves from dark moody tones to more uplifting peaks, meant to signify the passing from night into day. “First Light” is streaming now on all your favorite platforms.

ILIVEHERE. - COMING HOME

With every new release from San Holo’s bitbird I’m reminded how glad I am the young Dutch legend decided to curate a "label and creative company." This song “Coming Home” from rising talent ILIVEHERE. is my anti-Valentine’s Day jam for “Singles Awareness Day” as I like to call it.

No matter what your status on this American Hallmark Holiday, just dive into this lush, soundscape-y, chill-trap, future anthem from the clearly very-talented producer who has previously been featured on bitbird’s Gouldian Finch compilation and as one of the many incredible remixers of “Light” — you won’t regret it.

MAZDE - WICKED WINDS

Mike DooseComment

Man do I love me some Mazde! The young German producer sure knows how to create a vibe. Last month I shared "Neverland" feat. Khary, his foray into adding some rap onto his future bass-y, soundscape-y style (which ended up hitting the coveted #1 spot on HypeM). This time, I'm so jazzed on "Wicked Winds" which is more of a chill, chugging, atmospheric dance number. He creates an incredibly infectious rhythm with the airy percussion and layers over it the dreamiest of synth chords and vocal samples. Gorgeous use of attenuating filters draws attention to different parts of the mix. The end result is an otherworldly jam that would be the ideal soundtrack for cruising along the ocean coast at night.
