KILLING ME SOFTLY (VENESSAMICHAELS X MOONZZ REDO)

This week we saw a ton of drama with a certain male DJ/Agent looking for young skinny attractive women only who can DJ and not suck. The community exploded in outrage when his follow up stated that this is what clubs are looking for, and he was simply doing his job because if he was interested in finding talented DJ's he would just hire men. I don't want to focus on this obvious douchebag guy that our industry is littered with, but I am so happy that the younger generation of industry men, the ones who are making huge moves and will be running things in the next 10 years, are just as outraged as us women.  It's been incredibly refreshing to have these young male artists and industry mavens (agents, PR, management) speaking up and letting other men know how wrong the sexism is in the industry and thst they do not support these idiotic ideas. Makes me think things are actually changing .... and it feels nice!  That being said - this week two of my most favorite ladies got together and crushed this redo of "Killing Me Softly" by The Fugees and I'm like - fuck ya girls! VenessaMichaels is quickly becoming a rising star for females in the industry and making top-notch future beats tracks that are better than most of everything out there! HEADLINES (DRAKE COVER) (ON PLANETS REMIX)

On Planets is like our very own finders/keepers artist! We were fortunate enough to be introduced to him before he started releasing music, and we did somersaults of joy over all this amazing sounds. We've supported every track released, and a few days back On Planets dropped another brilliant gem, remixing a cover of "Headlines" by Drake. Once again he gives us a scrumptious version with his signature sound of syncopated synthed out beats for that future feels vibe!  It's just so so so good!  You guys are in luck, because On Planets is offering this track as a free download HERE! ILLENIUM - FORTRESS (FT. JONI FATORA)

The last 7 days have been rough for your girl because of life .... the biggest struggle has been finding time .... and let's be real, there is so much amazing music dropping every day that Eric and I have been finding it hard to keep up! That being said - on this Saturday afternoon I am going to try to get to all the things from our homies that we were not able to talk about, starting with this gorgeous track riiiight here!  I've been nerding out over Illenium a whole bunch lately, and his latest original "Fortress ft. Joni Fatora" is awesome!  He nails that larger than life synthed out future sound better than most, with huge beats under light airy vocals - it's so fucking epic! He's definitely becoming one of my top artists of 2016 already ... the BB crush has officially started! [PREMIERE] JARRYD JAMES - DO YOU REMEMBER (CHET PORTER REMIX)

3 things I would like to say about this premiere!  
First, there are so many of us who work 16+ hours a day 7 days a week in this industry of music - driven by passion and love for what we do!  Obvi the music and artists is what inspires us to bring that hustle - and the struggle is something that cannot fully be understood unless you're in it. So big ups to all my friends out there going through it with me, and a special double fist bump to Chet Porter's manager who is a true legend .... killing that hustle today!
Second - can all these labels please get your shit together? I thought, as a talent buyer, it was hard working with agents .... but for the constant stories of struggles from hell that I hear from artist management all the time, something is very wrong.  I'm posting this new Chet Porter remix of "Do You Remember" by Jarryd James with a Spotify player because it's the only option I have! Why would a label ever want to limit the way people hear your artist music? Just figure it out! Do people even work at labels? 
Third - this new Chet Porter remix is on fleek!  I love the way the layers create this big building sound! It's intense chill vibes for the music intellectual, and it's a epic style all his own! So excited for all the cool things coming up for this Canadian producer -- it's HUGE!  He's got some live dates coming up with Autograf too - so check the tour schedule HERE to see if he'll be in your city!    

BRANDYN BURNETTE - MADE OF DREAMS (WIN & WOO X KISO REMIX)

Dude! I was hoping this collaboration was going to happen again and much to my delight it did! Winners of the Oliver Heldens and Shaun Frank's "Shades of Grey" remix competition and our besties Win & Woo and Kiso have come together again this time to remix Brandyn Burnette's epic tune "Made Of Dreams." Stoked to see that this track is already trending on hype machine. The guys have put a perfectly danceable rework to Brandyn's soulful indie tune, with snappy piano, head bobbing kicks, bongos and of course guitar! Definitely the soundtrack to my Friday afternoon right now! Sunshine and smiles all around grab this free dl right here. 

[PREMIERE] ALEX CLARE - TOO CLOSE (WHITE CLIFFS REMIX)

Following up on his incredibly smooth "It's Strange" remix, White Cliffs has graciously gifted us at BB the opportunity to debut this totally groovy remix of Alex Clare's "Too Close." Starting rather minimally with light synth organ, claps and pitched down vocals, you know White Cliffs is getting you prepped for something special. A light build leads us into the moving funky bass line chorus that just fits too perfectly. I really enjoy the ease at which this remix takes on the original. White Cliffs adeptly reminds us that you don't need to throw the whole kitchen sink in to create an effective record. Well produced, catchy and focused can get the job done every time. [PREMIERE] MOLLY MOORE - PEACE OF MY HEART (SWEEKUH REMIX)

This next premiere is really cool! I've only recently discovered this young artists, and I gotta say he's grabbed my attention in the best way possible, giving me all kinds of tasty vibes! Philly producer Sweekuh has handed over a love song, just in time for the everyone's favorite "holiday" -- Valentine's Day (sarcasm on thick)!  I feel like I could actually apply this song to every boy I meet - because I fall in love with every last one.  Sweekuh remixes "Peace Of My Heart" by Molly Moore - laying her crisp pop vocals over deep synthy future beats for a delicious thick sound! [PREMIERE] SAM FELDT - BEEN A WHILE

What a treat right here! Sam Feldt destroyed 2015 bringing his deep tropical sensibilities to incredible remixes of Years & Years, Avicii and Icona Pop, not to mention a fantastic original in "Drive You Home." Well now BB has the pleasure of premiering Sam's first original of 2016 "Been A While!" I love that Sam has continued to involve live instrumentation into his mixes and this record, much like his previous original release "Drive You Home," showcases the trumpet. "Been A While" has a very endearing personality to it, keeping things light with the guitar melody and subtle bass. This allows the track to be chill, but definitely not too serious as shown by the pitched up vocals and whistling. A feel good tune through and through, Sam has delivered a sense of comfort with this record once again stretching the boundaries of modern dance music. I truly feel this record has massive main stream cross over potential given its almost folk like resemblance and charming appeal. What a great way to pick up your day! Out tomorrow February 5th on Spinnin' Deep.

[PREMIERE] MAKO - SMOKE FILLED ROOM (MNYKR & SNØWMASS REMIX)

Time for your daily dose of BB future feels! Love the alliteration with that ha ha but I digress. Mako has had a plethora of fantastic remixes come out for their smash single "Smoke Filled Room," but MNYKER and Snøwmass have put together a terrific new envisioning of the original. Starting with what sounds like park crowd noises behind subtle pads, the vocals swiftly come in with a smooth beat that creates an incredibly chill soundscape. As we're built up and lead into the dance break, the classic future sidechained synths hit us with a vocal chop lead line that pumps it up into overdrive. MNYKR & Snøwmass totally hit the mark with this one putting up a bullseye in the remix category. Equal parts chill and hype (can I even say that??) this record takes a whole lot of good from the original and adds soo much future bass greatness. Nab this free download here.
