[PREMIERE] MAHALO - BE MY LOVE FT. CAT LEWIS

Yeee this is some super exciting stuff right here from our boy Mahalo! We've been big supporters of this Hawaiian bred dance floor maestro, and today he's heating things up again with a sweet new single out on the up-and-coming dance label No Definition - a part of the legendary Swiss label Enormous Tunes home to some of our absolute faves like Nora En Pure, Croatia Squad, EDX and more. Teaming up again with the incredibly talented topline genius Cat Lewis, the two have struck gold in "Be My Love." Mahalo's nu-disco instrumental is full of energetic piano and synthwork with some super spicy bass expertly layered behind Cat's vibrant pop vocals. I asked Mahalo to tell me a bit about how the song came about: 

"We started a track "Be My Love" last year around December - it was originally a Nu Disco track that, for me, was never really panning out into something that I really liked in terms of the instrumental. However, I'd always be sending Cat some new WIP stuff and he'd continue to bring up "Be My Love." We eventually found a common ground with this track "gimme your love" which sort of turned into a happy balance of the two and thus this popped out. We weren't super sure what to do with it at first as it's a lot different than the departure I've taken in the last 6 months, but I showed it to My Digital Enemy when I was hanging with them one time and they were certain I had something here. We showed it to EDX and the rest was history!"

Big moves are being made in the Mahalo camp. A track of this caliber is certainly a sign that word is getting out about this up-and-coming producer. We're absolutely pumped to be able to premiere this record, and so happy to see the quick progression of this artist from relative ambiguity to upstart fame. LOST KINGS - PHONE DOWN

As if we even need to say it .... how much we love this delicious Los Angeles duo Lost Kings, or that their new track "Phone Down" is totally rad. It's just stating the obvious! So, instead I challenge all of you to use your creative thinking and ponder this. Last night I was chatting with another buyer/promoter - he and I had a show together that was super successful, and during the show we talked about how we would love to start a night where people had to check their phones at the door - that way they would be forced to actually talk to each other and really pay attention to the music! It's a really great idea - but the issue is this: how do you check 400 - 1000 phones? I mean, just how? Or, do you make people leave their phones at home but then will they not attend the event because of this? Or, do you turn people away at the door if they have phones even tho we would be very clear they are not welcome ... what's the best solution here? I want your ideas! 

This is pretty much what Lost Kings are saying too - the phone is sucking your life away and if you don't put that fucking thing down you are gonna miss out on some really great things in life. 

We just announced a BB show with Lost Kings in San Francisco on November 26 at Ruby Skye. Last time they were in town it was totally bananas - so I am psyched for this upcoming party! Advance tickets just went on sale - don't sleep on this one kids!

In what I’m dubbing the collab of the fall (and quite possibly, the year), Beautiful Buzzz favorites Illenium and Said The Sky have teamed up with melodic OG Seven Lions to bring us their brand new single, “Rush Over Me”. With the ever-angelic Haliene on vocals, the track is truly an emotional journey that somehow managed to exceed all of my expectations. Crywolf is such a boyfriend! This Los Angeles singer/songwriter not only runs in my circle of friends, he makes me swoon over his brilliant music time and time again. His new track "Quantum Immortality" is nothing short of brilliant - with his dreamy soaring vocals, synthy melodies and future feels beats it does not get much better than this! MOONZZ - WONDER (DNMO REMIX)

Well our infatuation with MOONZz continues and the remixes of her new EP 'Trust Cycles' are just starting to break beginning with young upstart producer DNMO's take on "Wonder." We reviewed his first release, a driving rework of NGHTMRE, Krewella and Pegboard Nerds' "Superstar," and we were excited to hear his follow up.
