[PREMIERE] MIELO X IEUAN - PRETTY WHEN U CRY

Ohh I've got a treat for you here from Chi town's Mielo. The recent Iowa University grad has made a name for himself spinning for big crowds across the midwest, while putting up some massive numbers on Soundcloud with his Porter Robinson remix, and a simply delightful original entitled "Surreal". Well today we're absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to premiere his latest single "Pretty When U Cry". This emotionally charged tune has immediately cinematic beginnings with a phone call intro, but quickly dives into dark, murky, and reverby territory with a droning pad and solemn piano underneath ieuan's haunting vocals. The reflective and questioning lyricism perfectly accents the layers of gritty synth work combined with the chorus' longing synth blips. This song could easily stand alone as a great acoustic track which further enhances its effectiveness as a fully produced piece of art. The white noise stabs at the end jolt us back to reality in what seems like a quick 3 minutes and 54 seconds. I was left breathless and was immediately clamoring to hit play a second time. This relatively new producer has hit an emotional nerve with most of his releases and neatly packs this single in with the rest of his budding catalogue. CALPER - CROSSROADS FT. MARK ASARI

It's Monday morning and foggy in SF - but I'm not letting that get me down! Today I feel like I could take over the world because the positive vibes are fierce, and I've just found the perfect track for my current mood that I think will get you guys feeling oh-so-niiiice! UK deep house producer Calper has given us a fantastic new track filled with sunshine tropical feels with "Crossroads ft. Mark Asari." It's really the perfect pick-me-up jam with all the warm and fuzzies with serious dance floor beats. You guys can stream or download HERE! 

KICK THE HABIT - ALONE

All it takes is one riff to get you hooked and propel a song to become a timeless classic. Think of great bands of the past and today, great riffs paved the way for them to become stars in their own right. For example:Led Zeppelin’s iconic riff in Whole Lotta Love, Jimi Hendrix with Purple Haze, or current bands like Arctic Monkeys with Do I Wanna Know and The Strokes with Reptilia. The newest band on the horizon is Kick The Habit releasing their newest hit single “Alone”, which you may not be surprised when I say, has an extremely catchy riff. “Alone” dips in very different genres from Alternative Indie to Electronica and I have to say that I am all for it. You get the best of both worlds even if you never even been to the other world because Kick The Habit blends both genres so well.

SIVIK - ALL DAY ALL NIGHT

LA based electro pop songwriter Sivik has been steadily putting out some really fantastic genre bending electronic music, and I'm absolutely in love with his latest tasty tune "All Day All Night." His silky smooth vocals float above the mellow instrumental with crispy percussion, and an infectious plucky lead synth. The chorus vox chops tinge with an electronic filter that's adds a robotic quality to it, but in no way does it feel stiff and unmusical. On the contrary, it's this magical blend of electronic choppiness and lyricism that separates this tune from the plethora of other electro pop jams. We've been told this is the lead single from his upcoming EP 'Solstice' and is just a dose of the epicness awaiting us in his next release. You can purchase this single on iTunes here.

ELI WAY & IAN EWING - HAPPY WITH U (FEAT. NAJI)

It's been a hell of a week. One full of hope, and excitement...despair and frustration. I was encouraged by some of the responses to our new president elect and discouraged by others. Respect is the most important thing to me and while many have been surprised and confused about the results we have to continue forward and overcome adversity. Life is full of setbacks, but it's about how you respond to those setbacks that will prove the real test of your mettle. Having said that, the real reason I'm divulging into such a rant is that I want everyone to just RELAX. You'll never solve anything upset so I'm providing you with this musical dose of chill to bring us back to square one. Eli Way just recently came onto my radar and oooohhh I'm soo glad he did. This amazing future soul producer has put out some absolutely amazing records like "If It Makes You Happy feat. Cehryl" and "Just Wanna Love You". I promise you this guy is ready to explode and I'm super excited to provide the introduction! Dive into his newest "Happy With U" co-written with Milwaukee based soul producer brethren Ian Ewing featuring rapper Naji. Start keeping tabs because this is just the beginning. 

ZHU - GENERATIONWHY (LOUIS FUTON REMIX)

It's almost 5am and I have not been to bed just yet - so deciding to blog at this moment might not be the best idea - but I've been listening to this jam all day, and as I come home from a fun night of work and play with another successful show in the books, I'm back listening to my homie Louis Futon, do what he does. I am a huge fan. I've only done one show with him, a boat party which was pretty great, and I have really been trying to have him back on another one of my events ever since .... but timing is off. Soon tho, I'm make it work. Yesterday he dropped his yummy remix of "Generationwhy" by ZHU, and once again he blows my hair back with his funky future style. Louis Futon has a gentle elegance about his music, it seems to flow effortlessly from his heart. Only spending a handful of hours with him 16 months ago, I did learn a bit about his charming character. I am convinced he has no idea how good he is, but then actually knows exactly how good he is ... if that makes any sense. Love this track - you guys need get into this one!  

MARTIN GARRIX - IN THE NAME OF LOVE FT. BEBE REXHA (THE HIM REMIX)

I'm feeling rather mainstream EDM today - it happens from time to time and I just can't get enough of the big room beats with soaring vocals; songs made for festivals where I can fire spin and shit (not really). So when my homies The Him sent their new remix of "In The Name Of Love ft. Bebe Rexha" by Martin Garrix thru today, I thought it was the perfect combo of the underground cool that we like to support (The Him) with mainstream EDM (Martin Garrix). This one is going to make you shake that booty fo-sho! I have more rather exciting stuff coming from The Him next week ... you'll have to wait a few more days for the goods!  Until then, our show with The Him + Lost Kings in San Francisco on NOV 26 at Ruby Skye is coming up, if you're in the bay area you should come on out yo! ADVENTURE CLUB - FIRESTORM FT. SARA DIAMOND

What a Friday - the jams just keep dropping like pieces of confetti from stage cannons that promoters like to blow all over us during sets from artists like Adventure Club! Boom! This Canadian duo is no stranger to the EDM world as well as our headphones - they totally crush all things and make us feel warm and fuzzy inside (which most Canadian's do). This new track "Firestorm ft. Sara Diamond" is bananas good with that vibe of epic sounds that Adventure Club produces so effortlessly. Get into this one kids!  

BEARSON - ONE STEP AT A TIME (FT. NATALOLA)

Pretty excited for this one tbh - Bearson has completely stolen my heart this year! There was definitely a reason I put him on the BB "Ones To Watch in 2016" list at the end of last year ... and everything I hoped would happen for this young Norwegian producer is happening! Yassss! Today Bearson releases a new original "One Step At A Time ft. Natalola" and I am swooning! He mixes bouncy pop rhythms with synthy dance beats that are so delicious I can't stop chair dancing at my desk! Add in sultry vocals from Natalola and BOOM ... greatness!
