HOTEL GARUDA - FIXED ON YOU (FEAT. VIOLET DAYS)

Music, Original MixEricComment

This last weekend brought the end of September, the start of October and a flurry of new releases. Hotel Garuda's new single "Fixed On You" came out last Friday, but I wasn't able to get a full Soundcloud live link until today so here we go! If you've been a BB listener/reader over the past couple years then you definitely know all about Hotel G. But for those new to Beautiful Buzzz or don't know, the duo comprised of Manila Killa and Candleweather have quickly grown from URL to IRL fame based on their forward thinking, melodic and dance floor ready music. This is their second major original release with the first being the highly anticipated "Smoke Signals" that came out last spring. "Fixed On You" is exactly the kind of Hotel Garuda release we expected, it starts out melodic and chill with string pads, and piano stabs filling in behind Sweden's Violet Days' pop friendly vocals. The track picks it up at the chorus with a killer dance drop full of beefy synth work, bongos and characteristically on point vocal chops. With so much traction, major festival performances and massive numbers it's hard to believe this is just the second Garuda original, regardless they've definitely hit this one out of the park. You can stream/purchase the new single from PRMD Music here.

Disclosure: Hotel Garuda is promoted by Beautiful Buzzz writers Alli Lindsey + Lindsey Oh

[PREMIERE] PATRICKREZA - ESCAPE (FEAT. AUBREN ELAINE)

Music, Original MixMike DooseComment

Premiere time yo! It's no secret that Los Angeles is a burgeoning hotspot for talent in the EDM community. Sometimes it seems like everybody and their brother produces music here. Hell, I didn't even know that I basically live down the street from Diplo until I started watching his Snapchat stories. While it may be a crowded scene in a big city, young Hollywood-based producer PatrickReza has managed to make a name for himself here first by making melodic dubstep a couple years ago, and evolving his sound through trap, house, and ultimately landing on his version of future bass. Two months ago, we heard "Let U Fall" ft. Aubren Elaine, which was full of tasty future feels and soulful vocals. Now we're happy to premiere his second track with the talented singer. "Escape" shows him using layers and layers of synths, some which sound like ocean waves, others reminiscent of electric guitars, and a simple chord progression underneath Elaine's familiar vocal. He has an impeccable grasp on how to create those sounds that really get you vibing along with the track. The hook "We Can Escape" will no doubt get stuck in your head for days.

On the process behind creating “Escape”, PatrickReza said,

“I went on a road trip after graduating from university this past summer and it was on this trip that I had initially came up with chord structure and melody for this tune. Inspired by summer days in L.A. and ocean waves, Aubren and I wrote Escape founded on the principals of taking risks and trying something new with the people you love in order to achieve something more than our normative socially constructed confines. We might make mistakes, but we can escape.”

MURA MASA - LOVE$ICK (FT. A$AP ROCKY)

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

I have a number of friends who describe this track as "peaking" and I'm 100% on board with this! We've all heard the track - those of us who have been hardcore Mura Masa fans have been talking about this track for a minute. It's original version which dropped last year was great ... but this new production featuring A$AP Rocky is fucking bananas! Not sure how you can improve on perfection, but Mura Masa did it. "Love$ick" is my #1 jam right now, I think I listened to it 50+ times over the weekend. With a brilliant mixture of dance, future, funk, jazz and hip-hop - this British dreamboat has won me over. Swoop this one via iTunes HERE!

CASHMERE CAT - TRUST NOBODY

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

3 Things I know about Cashmere Cat: 1) He's obsessed with dogs. If you follow his Snapchat you can see him following around every doggo he comes into contact with childlike enthusiasm. 2) He has a pretty great sense of humor, lots of jokes. 3) He makes some of the best music ever and this new track "Trust Nobody" is rad. It's the second single from his forthcoming debut full length album, and if this is a sign of what's to come, Cashmere Cat may put out the album of the year. Slaying! This has all the future bass and R&B pop vibes we have come to love from this Norwegian producer. SO stoked for this!

ELLUSIVE - SPACE BETWEEN US (FT. ERENE)

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

I can't sleep. This happens every now and then - my brain works overtime, waking me up in the early AM hours. On mornings such as this I like to post tracks I may have missed from the past few weeks that have the ultimate chill vibes .... because when it's this early I can only cope by listening to the dopest jams. Ellusive is crushing the vibes with his latest track "Space Between Us ft. Erene" in a massive way ... I'm swooning! This yung Trap producer hands us a sexy smooth deep bass gem with glitchy rhythms and dreamy vocals. This is the good shit! Get into this one kids!

SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE x REMMI - AWAKE, ASLEEP

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Happy Saturday y'all! I'm having a chill weekend at home with the doggo - the San Francisco weather is perfect with our indian summer in full effect. Blessed to live in such a beautiful place, I'm a Cali Girl for life! The summertime vibes are strong today, and Speaker Of The House is bringing the perfect feels with his latest track "Awake, Asleep." Veering away from his deep house sound, this Philly producer is giving us some luscious future bass sounds featuring alluring vocals from REMMI. This one is dance floor perfection! Speaker Of The House has just kicked off a huge US Tour, and luckily we grabbed him for the bay area show! On NOV 4th he'll be playing our show at Fox Theater Oakland with Goldroom and Autograf -- and things could not get much better than this.  Grab tickets ASAP!

KING DECO - READ MY LIPS

Music, Original MixEricComment

Well it hasn't taken very long for Jordanian born King Deco to be making all sorts of moves. Her newest single "Read My Lips" has already been getting quite a bit of buzz and certainly for a reason. Her infectious vocals pair perfectly with the upbeat pop production encapsulating the instrumental. I waited until today to post this record because I thought it would be perfect for that weekend vibe. The sun soaked single uses a groovin' bass line, sporadic guitar and dreamy electronics to create a synthpop anthem worthy of every pre-game playlist. Ohh and you can download this new single for free right here.

OWEN BONES - MACH ONE (FEAT. TUNJI IGE & LIL AARON)

Music, Original MixEricComment

Chicago's Owen Bones doesn't have that large of a catalogue yet, but we're picturing big things ahead for this upstart rapper. Owen first came across my radar with his track "Stuntman (feat. Kevin Abstract & Mick Jenkins" a few months ago. When I saw his new single "Mach One" featuring Tunji Ige and another one of our BB faves lil aaron I figured something tight was about to drop. To my delight what I got was a fun, weekend ready single that's smooth and full of energy. On top of that he's got a pretty cool website where you can get links to download/stream this single. Looks like we'll be seeing a lot more in the future from this camp.

LOUIS THE CHILD - FIRE

Music, Original MixEricComment

Well it's taking a while, but slowly we're being graced with new Louis the Child records. Their most recent release "Weekend" featuring Icona Pop established a trend that I hear continuing with their newest "Fire." It seems like kid references are everywhere in music branding now-a-days (young, kid, child, lil etc), but with LTC not only is their branding youthful and energetic their sound is also following suit. Freddy, LTC's musical maestro, has engineered a style with sounds and melodies that are light, cheery and exuberant setting the tone for the profile that they want to exploit. "Fire" is a pleaser from the second you hit play. Evalyn's cutting vocals soar above the beat eventually building to the signature flume-esque future bass chorus that we've come to love and expect from the boys. Hopefully we won't have to wait another 3 months for another LTC record, but even if we do I think we'll be ok because "Fire's" flame won't be extinguished any time soon. You can stream/download "Fire" from Ultra Records here
