Every once in awhile I get dealt the winning hand, and all the planets and stars aligned at the perfect time to provide me exactly what I need .... the best intern ever. Vinny takes care off all the things I can't while delivering the perfect cup of coffee during the week, and keeping my mimosas full on the weekends ... he's the best intern ever. However, he is a Christmas freak! He loves Christmas - the music and food and all the decorations - and if you know anything about me you know I can't stand Christmas. So now, my perfect intern has started to taunt me with Christmas, making me mix tapes and trying to put pumpkin spice in my coffee. He even gave me a gift today .... bah humbug! All of this brings us to our next premiere, and Vinny's Christmas joy must be rubbing off on me because this track is a Christmas song!! 19 year old Austrian producer filous releases a brilliant cover of this seasonal classic "Let It Snow" today via Ultra, and I'm shocked to say that I 100% love it! It's hard for me to think that filous would produce anything less than greatness, and this beautifully eerie electro folk track will be a favorite those of you who are Christmas lovers.. It gets the Vinny stamp of approval.

[PREMIERE] MARTIN GARRIX FT. BEBE REXHA - IN THE NAME OF LOVE (JUSTIN CARUSO REMIX)
Music, PREMIERE, RemixCommentWe've got a treat for you right here! I've you been paying any attention lately then you've definitely heard Martin Garrix's chart topping original, but today we're excited to bring you a fantastic re-envisioning courtesy of SoCal's Justin Caruso. Balancing a full college course load, producing tracks and finishing up a tour with 3lau, Justin has still managed to epicly flip Martin's ballad in a whole new direction. He's picked up the pace for the mix and fills it out with a bobbing dance chorus led by a spikey grooving bass line surrounded by airy arps, vocal warps, and energetic hi hats. Adding to his growing catalogue of remixes, this new Jack Ü inspired sound from Justin tones it back, yet still maintains the level of hype that we've come to expect from this camp. Tune in to this up-and-comer, we know there's lots more on the way. You can download this mix for free here.
[PREMIERE] HYPERCOLOR - GHOSTS (FEAT. KORA LEVA)
PREMIERECommentNew Music Tuesday! Oh wait, they do that thing on Fridays now...anyways I'm excited to bring you the premiere of the third original single from Hypercolor. The latest of Grant Wheeler and Matthew Young's various projects—which include Body Language, Vacationer, and Xan Young to name a few—Hypercolor draws inspiration from what's most exciting about modern production, citing influences such as Flume and Mura Masa. Those may sound like big names for comparison, but these guys live up to the hype.
"Ghosts" follows up on the success of the duo's first two originals, "Pretty" and "Animal", and is another stellar display of production chops and emotion. With the help of vocalist Kora Leva, "Ghosts" brings a more pop-infused tinge to the duo's progressive sound. It begins with strummed playful chords and light percussive sounds, slowly building through the first verse and chorus into more energetic luscious synths, chopped vocal samples, and snappy drums. I think it may be my favorite thus far from the guys, but with the consistency in quality we've seen from them already, there's little doubt they'll be slowing down anytime soon.
[PREMIERE] MIELO X IEUAN - PRETTY WHEN U CRY
Music, Original Mix, PREMIERE1 CommentOhh I've got a treat for you here from Chi town's Mielo. The recent Iowa University grad has made a name for himself spinning for big crowds across the midwest, while putting up some massive numbers on Soundcloud with his Porter Robinson remix, and a simply delightful original entitled "Surreal". Well today we're absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to premiere his latest single "Pretty When U Cry". This emotionally charged tune has immediately cinematic beginnings with a phone call intro, but quickly dives into dark, murky, and reverby territory with a droning pad and solemn piano underneath ieuan's haunting vocals. The reflective and questioning lyricism perfectly accents the layers of gritty synth work combined with the chorus' longing synth blips. This song could easily stand alone as a great acoustic track which further enhances its effectiveness as a fully produced piece of art. The white noise stabs at the end jolt us back to reality in what seems like a quick 3 minutes and 54 seconds. I was left breathless and was immediately clamoring to hit play a second time. This relatively new producer has hit an emotional nerve with most of his releases and neatly packs this single in with the rest of his budding catalogue. Be on the look out because we feel this train is on the tracks and is quickly picking up speed. You can also nab this new single as a free download here.
[PREMIERE] PORTER ROBINSON - SAD MACHINE (K?D REMIX)
PREMIERE, Music, RemixCommentTo say I am excited for this next premiere is an understatement. When I created BB I never expected it to eventually take off and become a "taste making" music blog, but here we are and it's 100% my labor of love. So when I find an artist like K?d, an artist who I believe is making some of the best new music out there, I tend to nerd out a bit and want to always be involved. We've pretty much posted everything he's released, and I am always asking management if I can premiere tracks or do some sort of creative content - but his management is very mean to me and always say no (j/k)! Well, not this time! Today we finally get to premiere the next K?d remix of "Sad Machine" by Porter Robinson. Swoon! K?d smothers this hit track in his signature future flavor, with bright melodies and crisp glitchy beats, transporting us to a new world of sonic heaven. I love how K?d listens and produces in a totally original way, including the most intricate sounds and beats making each track he puts into the world a masterpiece. Solid! You guys can swoop this one as a free download HERE!
[PREMIERE] OPIA - YDU (BKAYE REMIX)
PREMIERE, Music, RemixCommentThings just keep getting better and better for our yung friend BKAYE. I gotta say .... this Cali producer has been one of the most exciting new kids on the block in 2016 - BKAYE keeps slaying all things and making all the right moves! Seriously tho, our next premiere of this new remix of 'YDU" by Opia is a five alarm fire! With big future beats and viby vocals, this one has me poppin shoulders and throwin trap arms in the best way! Let's all celebrate the weekend arriving and turn things up - grab a free download HERE!
[PREMIERE] THE BROCKS - HLYWD
PREMIERE, Original Mix, MusicCommentI love new songs about my home town - growing up in Southern California is definitely a different experience from those who move there with wide eyes and big dreams .... because most of the time those people get crushed! It's hard to call a place like that home, the fashion and the clicks and everyone thinking they are so important. I lived this, and now that I live in NorCal I'm happy to say I am out of that scene - even tho it will always be home for me! Today's premiere is from a fantastic up-and-coming indie electronic outfit from Utah called The Brocks - and their new track "HLYWD" is delicious! Co-produced by the homie Kaskade and released on his label, Arkade, The Brocks have their own thoughts on the city of angels. “HLYWD was written from a place of feeling tired of being told what to want and feel. So much of what comes out of Hollywood pushes what is “cool” or “normal”, and this is about wanting to break free of that.” Feels! This one officially drops tomorrow - and I love it! I can't wait to hear more from The Brocks!
[PREMIERE] ISAAC CAVALLARO - I WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN (FT. ZEFERELI)
Music, Original Mix, PREMIERECommentOhh I've got an awesome new track today for you from Aussie newcomer Isaac Cavallaro. Known for his experimental textures and layerings of sounds, Isaac has crafted a fluid indie electronic tune that tingles the senses in "I Will Not Let You Down." The record starts ambient and dreamlike with heavenly pads and mystical synths leading us into a mesmerizing first verse with Zefereli's vocals floating on top of the percussion. We're coaxed into the buildup which falls into a halftime chorus with vox chops, a high arp and deep sub. The track picks back up into a tropical four on the floor that's supberbly blissful before we dive back into verse two. Isaac is primed for a breakout release with this one and deserves all 3 and half minutes of your time. The tune is set for release on iTunes and Spotify on November 10. But you can also download this single for free here.
