New Video: Dry The River - The Chambers & The Valves

I was recently been introduced to Dry The River a few months back, and I have to admit I have not spent much time with them yet. It's not that I don't like the music, but I guess I have not heard something that has made me drop what I was doing and listen to everything I can get my hands on by them. So far from what I can tell, they are missing a bit of an edge - which is something that I love. However, I just watched this video and I really liked what I heard and saw....I think dracula is dreamy!! They also get brownie points for being from London, UK!! ;-)

I can imagine Dry The River being a great live band that is not translated over into their recordings the same way. I believe I heard they will be making it to the US for SXSW so I hope I get to catch them on the west coast!

New Music: White Rabbits - Temporary

White Rabbits have just released their new single "Temporary" on Rolling Stone.com today! Good for them! I think this band is just great and have never received the kind of praise they deserved. I had someone once compair them to Vampire Weekend, but its not even close to that.

I am liking the new vibe of this record and I cant wait to hear it from front to back! Release date is March 6!

Remix: Grouplove - Tongue Tied (Gigamesh Remix)

Sunday funday! As the Super Bowl begins, I am hiding out in my studio working, because working on Sunday is always fun - and I really want to avoid any Super Bowl craziness! Remix time!! I have not been able to stop listening to Gigamesh!! This new remix of Grouplove's "Tongue Tied" is nice! It keeps that Grouplove vibe, like they are all at a slumber party having a pillow fight and tickling each other.....giggling....

New Video: Saint Motel - At Least I Have Nothing

My hometown boys - Saint Motel - just released an amazing new video for their latest single "At Least I Have Nothing" - and I love it! It is absoluty beautiful and erie all at once! Saint Motel direct all their own videos and have just shown us into their world. It's honest and fun, and a bit creapy....the perfect mix for brillance! Well done boys!! I am glad to call them my friends!

They have a tour coming up in the US and Canada - including a date in San Francisco with my boys The Hundred Days and a big Valentines Day celebration in LA! Catch a show, you wont regret it!

New Music: Future Unlimited - Golden

I am very excited to finally talk about this band! Future Unlimited are about to make their mark in the indie pop synth rock world! I have recently started to work with the Future Unlimited team and I am proud to be involved with such an exciting and talented group of people! "Golden" is the new single and it is good....really good....better than good!  Their debut EP Cloak & Dagger on 2/29 via their Bandcamp and SoundCloud pages. 

I am also happy to announce that Future Unlimited will be playing my SXSW showcase in Austin, TX this year! I cant announce the date and time yet, but they will be there and I am stoked!!

New Music: Jonquil - It's My Part

OMG!! I love booking my showcase for SXSW so much because I get handed bands that I may not have heard before, and I discover so much new great music! This morning I received an email about this band - Jonquil - and I am freaking out!! I am totally in love, and I am in the process of booking them because this band is a must!! Headed up by vocalist Hugo Manuel - also known as much loved artist Chad Valley - Jonquil is currently stealing my heart as we speak!

Their new album comes out February 28 in the US and March 5 in the UK - I am listening to it now and I can tell you that it is AWESOME!! They will also have a new video for this featured track "It's My Part" out in a few days so I will be sure to get that up here! Yay SXSW - it is going to be one amazing year!!

New Music: Ghost Beach - Too Young

I am feeling some indie pop this morning - and Ghost Beach are filling that need!! From what I hear - these guys are one of New York's newest buzz bands. They just released their new single "Too Young" today, and I think it's very cool. It reminds me of Hockey a bit, but without the funk. It's a feel good track, light and fun - perfect for this early morning of mine! Enjoy!

New Video: M.I.A. - Bad Girls

I have never had much to say about M.I.A. because there are few words I can come up with within my limited writing skills that can come close to describing how AWESOME this woman is! She continues to rock my world with her music and her live shows are out of control!

New video for "Bad Girls" follows a typical female pop singer video format, but she puts her style to it. She is reckless, and I love it!

New Music: Isidore - Song Of The City

What a great way to end the day! My beautiful friend - Jeffery Cain - and his project Isidore have released a new single called "Song Of The City" - and it is truly dreamy! This song reminds me of home....I feel safe and sound, like I'm tucked into bed all warm and comfy like. It has feeling and emotion...it's just really really great! I got chills the first time hearing - there are hints of Wilco and even a little Bowie! Thanks Jeffery for continuing to make amazing music...you never cease to amaze me....and I heart you!!

If you’re unaware, is Jeffrey Cain (formerly of Remy Zero) and Steve Kilbey (The Church), with the former on instrumentals and the latter lending vocal expertise. The collaboration came as a surprise, after Cain passed along an instrumental album to Kilbey only to receive it back later with vocals added in. The duo is now poised to release new album "Life Somewhere Else" February 14 on Communicating Vessels - my favorite little record label out of Birmingham, AL!
