AXEL MANSOOR - WASTED MY LOVE

Music, Original MixEricComment

Yay I'm pumped I get to do this. Let me have the grand honor of introducing you to Axel Mansoor! I've known Axel since we were both in college together, and I'm amazingly happy to hear how awesome this release is. "Wasted My Love" is vibey af in the best possible way. The guitars are swelteringly sensual, and the delays and reverbs set a dreamy soundscape for this longing tune. Axel's falsetto vocals ebb and flow with a catchy chorus that rings out "wasted my love, you wasted my love." As the lyrcism sweeps downward with tenseness so does the chorus melody sink with the weight of the subject matter. We've all been in that situation when a relationship doesn't quite go as planned and you're left wondering if it was all worth it. I hope there's much more downtempo goodness following this tune from Axel, but before we move on lets enjoy the fulfilling vulnerability of this one. You can get this as a free download here.

Disclosure: Axel Mansoor is managed by Beautiful Buzzz writer Mike Doose.

[PREMIERE] MOSSY. - WARPAINT.

Music, Premiere, Original MixErin MaherComment

Happy Monday! I have something pretty awesome for this next premiere that I have been dying to tall y'all about! Mossy. is a young producer out of Los Angeles who is so shiny and new that this is his first track ever! "Warpaint." sets a very cool tone with big low end beats and a funky groove - this is the kind of song the cool awkward indie kid in high school who wore Blur T-shirts (oh that was me) would be listening to. Mossy. takes a creative twist on combining some pretty epic vibes - it's like he crossed The Stone Roses pop rock sound with super sexy dance floor feels ... and he was able to say everything he needed to in under 3 minutes! I love this! You can download "Warpaint." HERE

FRND - SUBSTITUTE

Music, Original MixEricComment

My next one today comes from former sousaphone enthusiast and native of one of the first American colonies. That might just be all we know about this yet to be revealed artist FRND other than the fact that he's given us some killer tunes so far in "Sticks and Stones" and the debut "Friend" and doesn't seem to be slowing given his latest "Substitute." Just in time for Valentine's day this airy love song pleads that he can be "The substitute for the hole in your heart". The tune bumps and weaves along with vocals warps and a chippy snare. A guitar chop melody furnishes out the finale as we're left feeling alrighttt.

THE KNOCKS - LIE (FT. JERM)

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

I know I have said this one million times over the past 6 years .... but The Knocks are my favorite band ever! Our boys just got home from a massive european tour supporting Justin Bieber, and now that are about to embark on their next US headlining tour, and their Testify EP will be out FEB 03! Today they drop "Lie ft. Jerm" for an epic elecro pop dance track packed full of that funky Knocks vibe we love, with soaring soulful vocals from Jerm. They said, "When we wrote LIE in LA with Jerm it was just a vocal over that main guitar sample. No drums or additional production. His vocal is so powerful, it almost felt like it didn't need more.  When we took the song on the road and worked on it, we decided we wanted to make it a dancehall rhythm as Jerm is Jamaican and we didn't have anything like that yet.  It's also the first time we've done a song where the entire thing is a build and it doesn't really "drop" until the end which was really fun to do." It's bananas good! Get into this one kids!

BLAIR - PLANETARY (FT. ARGONAUT & WASP)

Music, Original MixErin MaherComment

Once upon a time in New York, this delicious dirty-blond bombshell sat next to me on a couch in a green room so he could get a little cuddle started between friends, and he told me that "Blair Takes Care" and I've never been the same! Cuddling aside - Blair is pretty awesome in so many other ways, and I am stoked for this new release "Planetary" featuring our homies Argonaut & Wasp. If you're in the mood for electro dance pop feel good vibes, look no further. Blair keeps it simple with a traditional pop format, but brings that dance floor heat that is oh so yumm.  This Los Angeles legend will be releasing a new track every month this year ... let the journey begin.

[PREMIERE] KNGDAVD - MEDICINE

Music, Original Mix, PREMIEREEricComment

If you haven't heard of KNGDAVD yet you soon will. With a hypem #1 and #3 already under their belt for the singles "Say My Name" and "Poppies", this duo is off to a hot start. Their latest "Medicine" sinks a feisty musical injection of guitars, sexy lyricism and infectious hooks straight into your ear canals, putting you under their special dose of drug induced bliss. “It's a song about using sex to avoid dealing with a dysfunctional relationship. Like your typical pain meds, sex can be a quick distraction from the real issues” -Tye and Jon Cover-up or cure... regardless 10mg of this tune is just the prescription you’ve been looking for. You can add this sexy single to your favorite spice it up Spotify playlist here.

POOLCLVB - WAITING FOR YOU + 'YOU + ME' EP

Music, Original Mix, EPEricComment

It might be cold, rainy and damp in LA right now, but I know it's bright and sunny in the land down under, home to this sunshine struck producer POOLCLVB. Celebrating the release of his beach friendly 'You + Me' EP I'm excited to show you this groovy record "Waiting For You." Bouncy light synths mull around with exceptional precision providing the groundwork for the mellow vocals from Carl Fox (½ of porches). Definitely check out the rest of the 'You + Me' EP for more cabana ready tunes. You can stream this on Spotify from etcetc records here.

MORGXN - HARD PILL TO SWALLOW

Music, Original MixEricComment

Nashville born, LA transplant (aren't we all?) morgxn is following up on his ridiculously catchy tune "Home" with his first release of 2017 entitled "hard pill to swallow." This fearlessly vulnerable tune not only puts his vocal brilliance on display with the brilliant falsetto, but also further exposes the moody brilliance that we've seen developing on prior releases. We've also heard that this tune comes with the announcement of the looming Vital EP coming later this year. Brooklyn, you can catch Morgxn at the Neon Gold pop shop 1/20 at Baby's All Right and a few select showcases at SXSW (wink wink) this March. Until then you can stream "hard pill to swallow" on Spotify here.

GOLDEN COAST - MAKE YA MOVE + GOLDEN COAST EP

Music, Original MixEricComment

Well it's finally arrived. I think we've posted damn near every single from Golden Coast's amazing debut 'Golden Coast EP' and today I'm totally thrilled to bring you the last single "Make Ya Move." A sheer delight to listen to, the duo has channeled their west coast vibes into a perfect distillation of pop indie rock in this tune. I know it's December, but this new single instantly takes me away into the warm green re-birth of spring driving down the best coast with the top down. According to the guys: "Make Ya Move was our attempt to kind of throw off some of the traditional song-y rules and do something just purely fun.  Kind of tried to channel our inner Macklemore or Bruno and talk a little over-confident swagger.  Think it’s our favorite dance tune to date." I couldn't agree more, let the head bobbing, toe tapping, throw my hands up dancing begin, and just in time for the weekend! If you're feeling this tune, like I know you will, go ahead and throw on their entire EP it's well worth the ride.
