I’ve been following CRAY for a hot minute. Ever since I stumbled on her Soundcloud and the Mario Bros. themed artwork and video game sample-laden trap tracks caught my eyes and ears, I’ve been watching the rise of the gamer girl who also makes dope beats and tweets hilarious musings about food.

CRAY has come a long way as an artist since her first releases on Soundcloud. She has since started singing on her tracks and developed an indie pop leaning electronic sound. Her latest original single “Peaches” quickly amassed over a quarter of million streams on Spotify alone thanks to a catchy hook, silky vocals, and vibey forward-thinking production. Now we’re lucky enough to have a remix from one of the best remixers in the game, RAC! Everything the dude touches is gold and this “Peaches” mix is no exception. With the addition of gorgeous guitar parts, thick percussion rhythms, and just the right amount of synth embellishments, RAC’s version preserves what made the original great while introducing a new relaxed-yet-bright energy to the track. Go peep this one and add it to your summer playlists now!

I had to get up early before one of the other Beautiful Buzzz crew posted this new RAC track - we are all such fan nerds over the Portland based song writer and producer, we fight over who gets to put up the new new!  I usually call dibs tho! And .... who can forget the last time RAC and MNDR worked together on "Let Go" - one of the greatest summertime vibes tracks ever! With just a few days away from RAC's full length release EGO, he's handed us "Unusual ft. MNDR" for our listening pleasure! As expected, with these two legends back together, this is indie dance pop perfection. Once again RAC gives us that summertime groove that takes over our senses and makes us wanna hit that dance floor! And with MNDR's ultra cool vocals this combo can do no wrong. I can't wait to hear the rest of this record! You guys can pre-order EGO HERE

Some of my most vivid memories of in college, not to mention formative bonding experiences with lifelong friends, occurred with an RAC remix in the background. Industrious doesn’t even begin to describe the volume of amazing work he has graced our ears with over his long, yet seemingly ageless, career. Throw St. Lucia into the mix and you have a recipe for greatness anytime, every time. The two recently combined forces again to bring “The Beautiful Game” into existence for our listening pleasure, and needless to say they deliver. Like a lot of their previous work, the track pulls me into a state of contemplation over the furious contradictions that come with loving someone. The juxtaposition between melodic indie pop beats and lyrics outlining the intoxicating frustrations of infatuation get me every time. If you’re trying to catch those feels in person RAC just kicked off the North American portion of their tour with a full list of stops here. RAC & Jean from St. Lucia also graced the interwebz with a Q&A session you can view here.  Stream/Download your very own copy here.

Remix wizard and indie-electronic favorite, RAC just teamed up with Weezer's head honcho, Rivers Cuomo to release a dreamy, synth pop single prior to the release of his highly anticipated album, "EGO." A co-write with Classixx, "I Still Wanna Know" is an 80s-esque summer hit, garnished with pleasantly hazy production and angsty lyricism. It's a bubbly banger with a transition at 2:29 that gives it a rock 'n' roll edge. The song's ethereal instrumentals take you on a trip- from crying about a break up, to dancing in the sun. RAC released a statement with the track saying, "I was the kid at summer camp that would sit in a corner with a walkman trying to figure out how to play Weezer guitar riffs. Never in a million years did I think that I would end up writing a song with Rivers himself." I think it's safe to say that the collaboration doesn't disappoint. "EGO" is set to release July 14 and you can pre-order it here. In the mean time, make sure to add "I Still Wanna Know" to your summer Spotify playlist!

Look who's finally back with some new music!! Oh and just in time for our Get Buzzzed 2017 Austin showcase. It's not secret we love RAC at Beautiful Buzzz, and we were super excited when we saw our boy Andre win his first Grammy for his absolutely sexy take on Bob Moses' "Tearing Me Up." Well now he's back with his first remix since eclipsing the career milestone, with a bass driven remix of Matthew Koma's "Hard To Love." If you're heading to Austin next week be sure to RSVP for our showcase and catch RAC on Friday March 17 closing down the night at 12:30.
