[PREMIERE] JANELLE KROLL - BARRICADE (TYZO BLOOM REMIX)

Janelle Kroll has been crushing it lately. "Barricade" was a really cool tune with such an infectious wave of a melody on the lyric "Barricade" that just makes you smile. So I was pretty excited when I got sent another Tyzo Bloom remix of Janelle ripe for our ears. This remix starts rather ethereal with child like bells and piano whisking us away as we're launched into the familiar tropical marimba tones on top of bobbing sub. Tyzo makes ample use of vocal warps throughout the remix that sound not too distant from whistles. The original was light, even jovial and Tyzo has simply enhanced those feelings while making us feel warm inside.

DUA LIPA - HOTTER THAN HELL (HEROLESS REMIX)

So there's this new 17 year-old producer named Heroless which is kind of a weird DJ/producer name, but I also thought Wheathin was kind of a weird DJ name and look where young Ethan is now (the name change to 'Whethan' didn't seem to faze anyone). Anywho...these kids' parents must be putting something in their cocoa puffs because Heroless has proven already with just three remixes that he's going to be a force to reckon with.

I've been smitten with Dua Lipa since I saw her perform at the popular intimate weekly Monday night LA showcase School Night—she is a model after all, but more importantly she can f*cking sing! And her songs are great. Her 2016 single "Hotter Than Hell" is definitely a favorite, and Heroless has ramped it up into a bouncy bass banger. He's got a swing to his style that does something to your brain where you can't help but nod your head and think to yourself "this is going to be big." Grab yourself a free download here.

[PREMIERE] WHETHAN VS OLIVER TREE - WHEN I'M DOWN (BRONZE WHALE)

Yes. Once more, "The Live Music Capital of The World," Austin, Texas has brought to fruition another illustrious musician. A duo actually, Bronze Whale, composed of Benny and Jaques who make "sexy whale sounds" that have continuously dominated the electronic music scene in ATX, just dropped a saucy remix for Whethan and Oliver Tree's, "When I'm Down." The original track is a stand alone classic, but the holy hands of Bronze Whale have cast upon it new dimensions. The flip possesses a pop-step energy, with a kind hint of bubbly on the nose. Yet, it still has this sharp, demanding tone that drives it up and down, you know, so you can shuffle. There is a pronounced emphasis on the intricacy of the production, it's never quite simple- but always an affable listen. Bronze Whale is recognized for their consistent delivery of big room sounds that pull on the heart strings. But, with this remix they give us a party. With this remix, they share with us the testimony of layered complexity in production. [PREMIERE] MIELO - SURREAL (STRATUS REMIX)

It's no secret the mid-west city of Chicago is producing some major players in the electronic music scene as of late. They may all be moving to LA, but they know their roots! Today's premiere features two of these chi-town rising stars with this siiiick Stratus remix of "Surreal" by Mielo. I love this sexy slow groove under syncopated dance beats and big trap drops. This is the kind of track that makes a dance floor get dirty! Mielo will be heading out on his first US tour this year, and after featuring him at our SXSW show this year I can tell you its a set that can't be missed - more info to come on that soon! JAI WOLF - STARLIGHT (GOLDROOM REMIX)

Nothing like a perfect, musical collaboration to ease a 101 fever on a Monday. NYC-based producer, Jai Wolf, just passed his track "Starlight" onto Goldroom for a remix. Goldroom, an LA man of "shuffling feet and melting souls," just gave the single a dreamy, ethereal treatment. The flip is introduced to listeners with a near-ominous foreward, combining tunnel vision sounds and a glowing reverb. The down tempo, kick-drum build up later drops into a dominating, bouncy production. The entirety of the song is ambient, but never sleepy. It flickers with warm lyricism, while musically capturing its psalm, "drifting through a memory, wake up in your crystal sky." It's a starry eyed remix- soft, charming, and saccharine. I totally vibe with this track - I get wild thoughts all the time! I also totally vibe with this yung producer Medasin because wow, he can't put out anything but the shway shway. You could even say his music gives us the wild thoughts! This remix of "Wild Thoughts ft. Rihana, Bryson Tiller" by DJ Kaled is full of sexy soulful hip-hop vibes with all the future flavor we crave. Medasin has been making huge moves this year, and he's on that super star track ... so now it the time to sink your teeth in!

We've always been big supporters of XYLØ, so when this next premiere was placed in my hot little hands I could not resist! My fave brassy duo are back with another delicious cover of a famous hip hop track. Following up on their cover of "All Of The Lights" with Alexander Lewis they've chose to take on Lil Uzi Vert's "XO Tour Llif3". Someone told me that Lil Uzi Vert is a messed up version of lucifer? Not sure if that's a joke or true, but now I'm wondering where he got that name haha. Anyways the Brasstracks boys do their thing and deliver another fun gem that's a head bobber for sure.
