LEO ISLO - GOLDEN GRAVE + EP

Leo Islo's new Golden Grave EP is absolutely killer. I've been a big supporter of his music for a while now (check out "Higher Living" such a tune!). I had the opportunity to listen to this EP before it was live and it's been on repeat ever since. Due to circumstances (EDC + moving) I haven't been able to get this up as quick as I would like, but alas here it is! Matt Pahler, pka Leo Islo, has already had a diverse music career and is really putting it all together for this EP. Golden Grave, the title track off the EP, has such a uniquely chill vibe to it. His voice basks you in golden rays of briliance, supported by ambient background vocals, synth stabs, a moving arpeggiating synth bass line, and relaxed percussion. The tune smoothly grooves along flying you up to fantastic heights. I would highly recommend putting ears on the entire EP, and purchase/stream it courtesy of PUZL Records here.

VENESSAMICHAELS - REALLY LIKE (FEAT. EFFY)

VenessaMichaels has been putting together a breakout catalogue over the last few months. From first making our Best of 2015 list, to putting out her and MOONZz's incredible "Killing Me Softly" cover, to rocking our SXSW 2016 showcase and NOW this killer new original "Really Like (feat. Effy)." What else can we say? Did I hear the term rising star get thrown around the office when her name was brought up? Well dive into her new single and enjoy. Starting super vibey with piano and Effy's heavenly voice, we're quickly bobbing and weaving around this record with synth stabs, light and jovial fills, energetic vox chops and moving bass. The track stays groovy through the end leaving us puffed up like a big ole bubble of big league chew. Something about the cover art must have inspired that gum analogy. BUZZZMIX VOL. 28 - BRONZE WHALE

Summer is in full swing - which for some means chill evenings and lazy weekends relaxing by the pool. And for others (like me and my fam) it's time to party! With festival season currently peaking, not a weekend goes by that we're not seeing our socials blown up with FOMO over some festival we're not at this year! It's a brilliant time to be alive! Our next guest mix is all about that party, and our homies Bronze Whale have crushed this next installment of Buzzzmix Vol. 28. This Austin future bass duo has been a bit quiet the first 1/2 of this year - hunkering down to work on fresh jams - including a highly anticipated unreleased remix of "Slow Burn" by Crywolf - which you can only currently hear on this mix!  Bronze Whale wants all of us to get lit, it's 100 percent made for hot nights in the club where we can dance like crazy and even throw the occasional trap arm! THE WOMBATS - EMOTICONS (LOVE THY BROTHER REMIX)

Now that everyone is back from EDC - today seems to be getting back to the normal pace this industry produces - I've been feeling great about getting back to the grind, especially with this latest remix from the ultimate homies Love Thy Brother. My amazing Canadian loves put their indie dance spin on "Emoticons" by The Wombats - holding onto a dark deep house edge with a slight 80's new wave vibe that I am loving! Love Thy Brother can do no wrong actually! Get into this one kids! 

OPIA - SHADOW DANCES

Not gonna lie - Opia are fuckin' saucy! This new east coast duo has dropped some seriously sexy electro R&B tracks that has made industry stand up and take notice. They may have met at Yale, but there is nothing Ivy League about their music - it's smothered in bold R&B grooves with rich intoxicating vocals! I'm all about it! JÜAN DU SOL - NOBODY

Some of you may know JÜAN DU SOL as Jon George, who is 1/3 of our loves RÜFÜS DU SOL. This Aussie legend has been making some pretty incredible dance music over the past few years, and now he's about to release his debut Cuba EP on June 24 via Sweat It Out. "Nobody" is a delicious deep house gem with dark dance floor vibes that will fill your soul with all them awesome feels! If you're in Australia JÜAN DU SOL will be touring nationally during July, and I am guessing this is gonna be one hot show! Get into this one kids!  

MEEKA KATES - EMPIRE FT. ALLEN GINSBERG (ORIGINAL MIX)

I just took a fantastic afternoon nap! With most of the electronic music industry in Vegas this weekend at EDC - this is a time for me to seize every opportunity to take naps, as well as catch up on some really amazing tracks that I might not otherwise get to put up on BB. A time to explore music freely without all my managers and PR peeps at me, whom I love very much but let's be real .... sometimes it can be overwhelming for a single girl with a HypeM blog! Meeka Kates is a Dutch singer/songwriter/producer living in Australia, which means hes is soaking all that magic music dust Australia provides it's artist and making some of the best music on the planet. His new track "Empire ft. Allen Ginsberg" is a fantastic cross of groovy deep deep house jams and indie pop dance feels - it's crazy good! Swoop a free download HERE!    

FJORD - HEY HEY, MY MY (INTO THE BLACK)(NEIL YOUNG COVER)

I have some real love for Canadians - over the past few years I have made some really rad musical friends from that beautiful country, and that circle is only growing. Today I wanted to introduce you to Fjord, a fantastic up-and-coming duo from Quebec who have melted my heart with their cover of "Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black) by the legend Neil Young. This version is brilliant! Filled with floating synths and atmospheric vocals, Fjord crushes this one with all the feels! Their full length album Textures will be out September 16, so until then keep this one on repeat.

We've been on this Fantastic Voyage with Justin Jay & Friends - the legendary Los Angeles producer has been releasing some pretty awesome and creative tracks as part of this series, and part 4 "Climbing Trees ft.
