HtPkt's new remix of KSHMR & Felix Snow's "Touch" featuring Madi takes the hard hitting banger and reimagines the track in a more future bass orientation, all while maintaining the beauty and integrity of Madi's vocals. HtPkt, from Miami but currently based in NYC, is a steadily rising talent everyone can get in on early right now. He's currently at less than 1,000 followers on Soundcloud but don't expect that to stay that way for long; we see his stock rising quickly over the next year.
VINCENT - RETROGRADE
Music, Original MixCommentSeven months after giving us ‘Her’ Vincent is back with a brand new sound. "Retrograde" is much deeper and seems more personal than Vincent’s past track. With it's releases Vincent posted a message on his Soundcloud page and had this to say “... I've always wanted to showcase emotion and keep it at the forefront of my songs.” and I think "Retrograde" is full of emotion. Everything about the track is a little more intense than his other music and it pays off for sure. This is an awesome tune and I’ll definitely be looking out for more songs like this from Vincent.
AKIHABARA! - TAKE FLIGHT
Music, Original MixComment19 year old, St. Louis based akihabara! continues down the path of dropping moody future bass tracks while steadily growing his presence online. "Take Flight" keeps the trend going, with melodic synths ebbing and flowing over a hard ambient bass line. Altogether adding a thorough layer of umph to an overall cerebral musical experience. Keep an eye and an ear out for this up and comer.
OYSTER KIDS - 40 NIGHTS
Music, Original MixCommentI'm in a very indie vibe today, so I'm gonna keep it going. We haven't been able to show Oyster Kids love in a while, so I definitely want to catch back up and throw some support behind their new single "40 Nights," and mention a few of their other amazing tracks they've released since our post of their first release "Creepy" almost a year ago (wow it's been that long!!). If you haven't heard the groovy "Lips," and the laid back summer beach friendly tune "Gum (Everybody's My Friend)," do yourself a favor and put those on your day time jams playlist. "40 Nights" is their best yet in my opinion, the falsetto chorus is just too infectious. The active rhythm section keeps the song chipper while the verse vocals mesmerizingly drift on. The combination of the verse and chorus places "40 Nights" into a mixed bag of emotions: the chorus is lighter and catchy, yet the verses inspire something almost mysterious. The net result is a song that's interesting and pop friendly all at the same time, which is no simple task these days.
KNGDAVD - POPPIES
Music, Original MixCommentNewcomers KNGDAVD comprised of singer Tye James and multi-instrumentalist and producer Jon Buscema met at the University of the Arts in Philly. Considering themselves Jazz rejects they joined forces to eventually create KNGDAVD. Forget jazz! Tye and Jon are owning a superb blend of blues, rock and pop in a way that's gritty, fun and suppperrr catchy. "Poppies" is an instant ear pleaser the second you hit play with a vocal falsetto and distorted synth like guitar leading us into a verse and chorus that grab you and won't let go. Now located in NYC and with a hypem #1 already to their credit for "Say My Name," this duo sounds like they're primed and ready for a national presence. If this is your first time hearing these guys I'm happy to say "Poppies" is one hell of an introduction.

BIG GIGANTIC - THE LITTLE THINGS (KASBO REMIX)
Music, RemixCommentJust in time for his upcoming show with Big Gigantic, Marshmello and Illenium at Red Rocks, Sweden's Carl Garsbo aka Kasbo has dropped a riveting remix of Big Gigantic's "The Little Things". The remix mellows out the track, setting a moodier backdrop for Angela McCluskey's vocals. This is just the kind of wavy, emotion driving track one could image playing as the sun sets behind the beautiful Rocky Mountain backdrop at Red Rocks this weekend. It's not hard to imagine seeing this guy headlining his own shows there in the near future. Grab a free download HERE!
STÖÖKI SOUND - ENDZ
Music, Original MixCommentStööki Sound rocked our Get Buzzzed SXSW showcase last March with their signature heavy beats. I was soo completely amped after the show I had to go backstage and take a pickle back shot with Erin lol good times! Fast forward six months Stööki is back with an eclectic, but hype trap tune that crushes with deep intensity. According to DJ Lukey and Jelacee, “Endz is the first single off of our Ösiris EP. It’s a brooding instrumental, that captures the dark and tense atmosphere of the area of London in which we grew up. Endz will take you on a musical journey through the streets of London.” The single also marks the launch of their Ö.N.E Worldwide label and the kickoff of their Fall North American Tour. You can grab tour deets at the Stööki Sound Facbook page, and you can download and stream the single here.
SIGUR RÓS - HEYSÁTAN (AMTRAC DUB)
Music, RemixCommentAmtrac provides some of the most chilled out and satisfying dance music on the planet. Additionally I've loved Sigur Rós for years, so when I saw these two names together on one song I knew it was going to be perfect. For those of you unfamiliar with Sigur Rós let me give you a little backstory. Hailing from Reykjavík, Iceland Sigur Rós first came onto my radar with their song "Starálfur," that has such a heavenly beautiful aspect to it. With an entrancing piano melody and strings leading the way, the song easily floats you away to another atmosphere. Their most successful LP 'Takk' features this song "Heysátan" along with "Hoppípolla" probably their most successful single that was featured in many movies, TV shows and ads. If you get a chance listen to the entire 'Takk' LP its well worth it. Amtrac has taken "Heysátan" to new heights making such a moving atmospheric tune dance floor ready. Amtrac has really made this track his own in such a flavorful way, using the pads strings and occasional bells to accentuate the main chords. He utilizes the vocals for ambient background splashes resulting in a hearty, bone chilling deep house cut. You can nab this as a free download here.
PS this post took a while to get all the accents and spellings correct lol so thanks in advance for noticing 😉
