ELEPHANTE - PLANS (FEAT. BRANDYN BURNETTE) + I AM THE ELEPHANTE EP

Elephante is back with an incredible new single, and the hotly anticipated release of the 'I Am The Elephante' EP with an almost LP's worth of 9 amazing records. The emotional EP features a mix of chilled out electro pop, essences of tropical, smatterings of melodic trap, and future bass all tied together in a way that only the Phante can do it best. If you haven't heard them yet, check out the already hit singles "Closer (feat. Bishøp)" and the epic remix of MIIA's "Dynasty," along with some great other records like the one I'm about to touch on "Plans," "Catching On (feat. Nevve)," "Hold (feat. Now onto "Plans" Brandyn Burnette kills it per usual with the emotionally charged lyricism and vocal performance. The record starts much in the same way as "Closer" with a solemn organ that immediately draws soulful church-like thoughts as tropical xylophone plucks spark the record up into a snappy chorus that prominently features a guitar riff as the main melody. The record plugs along at a chipper pace as we reach the bridge where we're brought into an emotionally charged halftime chorus leading us into the finale. This marks another milestone for Elephante and we're happy we've been along for the ride. MATT DIMONA - MALIBUU (FEAT. LANI RENALDO) + UP ALL NIGHT EP

Matt DiMona is the man! Erin and I had such a good time hanging with him at our show when he opened for Goldroom last April. He told us about this EP being in the works back then, and damn are we stoked that it's arrival is finally here! I really like the whole 'Up All Night' EP especially "Touch" and "The Universe We Dreamt," but I've chosen "Malibuu (feat. Lani Renaldo)" as the one to support mainly due to it's more mainstream pop appeal. Not to mention all the Cali references : ). The song is simple and refined. It doesn't reach too far outside of the box mainly relying on the background pads and comforting vocal performances by Matt and Lani to lead the way. There are splashes of rising arps and other sounds that help accent the endearing nature of the track. GLADKILL - HIGHER

Oakland producer Gladkill has dropped the most chill heat of the week, and this one has all the sexy time feels! Thick R&B grooves under future beats and sensuous bass "Higher" is next level chill and I am loving it! Gladkill's upcoming full-length album is coming out in September, and he's hinted that there is a ton of new music to share before then ... yes please! Listen and feel the vibe!  

MAKO - SMOKE FILLED ROOM (SEVERO REMIX)

I am feeling quite chipper today - and not because I have some awesome BBQ plans for the 4th Of July holiday. It's more like a overall positive feeling about life, and how I finally feel like all my years of hard backbreaking work are finally paying off! That's why I picked this track to put up on BB today - because everyone has to start somewhere, and Severo is just getting to it. This Swedish producer is only 15 ... holy mac! I mean when I was 15 all I cared about were boys and well ... boys! Severo is someone I can see evolving into greatness - his remix of "Smoke Filled Room" buy Mako shows maturity and depth ... I get all kinds of feels with this one! Severo also means Severe in Spanish - fun fact of the day! LEO ISLO - GOLDEN GRAVE + EP

Leo Islo's new Golden Grave EP is absolutely killer. I've been a big supporter of his music for a while now (check out "Higher Living" such a tune!). I had the opportunity to listen to this EP before it was live and it's been on repeat ever since. Due to circumstances (EDC + moving) I haven't been able to get this up as quick as I would like, but alas here it is! Matt Pahler, pka Leo Islo, has already had a diverse music career and is really putting it all together for this EP. Golden Grave, the title track off the EP, has such a uniquely chill vibe to it. His voice basks you in golden rays of briliance, supported by ambient background vocals, synth stabs, a moving arpeggiating synth bass line, and relaxed percussion. The tune smoothly grooves along flying you up to fantastic heights. I would highly recommend putting ears on the entire EP, and purchase/stream it courtesy of PUZL Records here.

FJORD - HEY HEY, MY MY (INTO THE BLACK)(NEIL YOUNG COVER)

I have some real love for Canadians - over the past few years I have made some really rad musical friends from that beautiful country, and that circle is only growing. Today I wanted to introduce you to Fjord, a fantastic up-and-coming duo from Quebec who have melted my heart with their cover of "Hey Hey, My My (Into The Black) by the legend Neil Young. This version is brilliant! Filled with floating synths and atmospheric vocals, Fjord crushes this one with all the feels! Their full length album Textures will be out September 16, so until then keep this one on repeat.    

SG LEWIS - HOLDING BACK FT. GALLANT

I had the awesome pleasure of hanging out backstage watching SG Lewis go off a few weeks ago when he was in LA opening for Pete Tong (S/O to Eric Sharp, more about his new single later). When I saw this hit my inbox with a little Gallant feature I knew it was going up on BB. My expectations were high given this collaboration, but it totally lived up to the hype. SG in typical fashion keeps it lively, while still somehow chill af. Gallant with his falsetto and numerous harmonies fits perfectly on top of the smooth piano chords, melodic arps and splashes of funky guitar. The soul is strong with this one, I'm getting chills just thinking about the studio sesh that brought this to life. You can purchase the single on iTunes here. 

EMBRZ - BREATHE

Ireland's Jack Casey pka EMBRZ has delivered a fantastic and sentimental record with "Breathe." Chilling and emotional, the synth leads meander us through this musical journey beneath haunting lyrics that have really left me breathless. You can nab this tune on digital retailers here.  

JERRY FOLK - TAKE THREE

Jerry folk is bae - like ... we brunch and stuff. This young Norwegian producer is full of surprises, and every new track he puts out is something new and brilliant for the world to enjoy. "Take Three" is like sonic heaven, with draggy beats over synthed out glitchy melodies I am pretty much addicted! Now living in Los Angeles, Jerry Folk is about to start his first US tour in a few weeks, and we are psyched to see him in San Francisco once again!
