Canadian artist Tommy La Croix † spent his formative years mixing impressive DJ sets to better understand the mechanics of sound blending. His work as a professional DJ provided him with a unique set of insights and an out-of-the-box yet familiar taste in rhythm. Now creating original works of his own, Tommy La Croix † dives headfirst into the vast world of production. Following three well-received singles “Danza De Trompeta,” “L’Espoir,” and “Requiem D’amour,” Tommy La Croix † unveils his debut album Requiem D’amour. A downtempo journey through world-inspired soundscapes, mystic reverb, and esoteric melodies, the genesis of Tommy’s catalog is an elegant point of departure. “El Camino” is tucked carefully into the 6-track album working as a centerpiece to a moving tapestry of culturally diverse harmonies. Guided by a simple, house-inspired beat “El Camino” is embellished with hypnotic maracas and sensual horn sections. A blissful facet of an atmospheric debut album, Requiem D’amour’s greatness is defined by the sum of its parts.

[PREMIERE] AXEL MANSOOR - WASTED MY LOVE (SLEEPING LION + DULSAE REMIXES)
Music, PREMIERE, Remix1 CommentIf you missed the sudden arrival of Axel Mansoor a few short months ago, then you best get hip to the program. His debut singles "Wasted My Love" and "Out of My Head" have collectively hit 1 million streams and notched some impressive milestones like Spotify US Viral Top 5 and Hype Machine #1. Well today we're celebrating the premiere of two delectable remixes from Sleeping Lion and Dulsae of "Wasted My Love". The first from Boston's Sleeping Lion being a downtempo experimental jam rife with layered modulated vocals, deep pulsating synths and playfully sexy melodic lines. The second from Dulsae is my personal favorite of the two - an upbeat exploration on the original that takes flight in the chorus with pulsing swarms of synth work that complements the guitar all too perfectly. Both valiant re-imaginings on the original it was tough to pick just one so I give you both!
Disclosure: Axel Mansoor is managed by Beautiful Buzzz writer Mike Doose.
JUSTIN CARUSO - TALK ABOUT ME (FT. VICTORIA ZARO)
Music, Original MixCommentSo much good music dropping it's hard out here for a pim...I mean blogger lol. Justin Caruso bubbled into our radar when we premiered his remix of Martin Garrix's banger with Bebe Rexha "In the Name of Love." Well now he's back with his FIRST original "Talk About Me" thats perfect for that sunset drive down the PCH with your bae ridin' shotgun looking cute as hell. Well that's what I'm picturing at least, but the chill-to-bump ratio (i'm gonna copyright that haha) is just right on in this tune. Victoria Zaro's lyrics have bit of bite to them, but the nature of the instrumental offsets the spite of the lyricism just enough to give you room to smile. I'm digging - you can add this to your favorite Spotify playlist here.
STEVE AOKI & LOUIS TOMLINSON - JUST HOLD ON (ATTOM REMIX)
Music, RemixCommentIowa City's Kyle Stern better known creatively as Attom has been crushing it the last couple years with awesome tunes like originals "Cruise" and the amazing "Afterglow" that shot up the hypem charts. Today he sent over his remix of Steve Aoki's smash hit "Just Hold On" and I thought it was the perfect ethereal soundscape to bring us out of winter and ease us into spring. He layers on elements of tropical xylophones, chimes and warm pads all equating to a musical deep breath of fresh air. I'm sure there's much more for us coming soon from this camp until then we can enjoy this fresh take on the original. You can also get this on your favorite digital musical retailer here.
TWO FRIENDS FT. COSMOS & CREATURE - OUT OF LOVE
Music, Original MixCommentAh here it is! The Two Friends tune we've been patiently waiting for! I had the opportunity to hear this one a while back, and I think it's definitely one of the biggest releases yet for Matt and Eli. Brandyn and Molly's (Cosmos and Creature) group filled vocals add a definite grandiose nature to the tune that's heavily accented by the horns. The clean delayed guitars feather in a warming overtone to the tune that solidifies the pop crossover nature of the record. I expect big numbers to come to this tune, and can't wait to see it fly up the hype machine chart. You can stream this on your favorite retailer here.
FILOUS - GOODBYE (FT. MAT KEARNEY)
Music, Original Mix1 CommentWow filous (pronounced fih-loo ha ha i def got it wrong for a while) just can do no wrong. This young Austrian (only 19!) has wisdom and skills well beyond his years, and its no wonder the industry has taken such notice. His brand of folky electronic relies on real instruments, and does so in such an smooth way. His latest "Goodbye" is winter-inspired cross-breed of ambient electronic and pop. Mat Kearney's voice gives the tune a singer-songwriter like quality to it that mixes perfectly with filous' often guitar filled instrumental. Out today on Ultra Records you can add this to your favorite winter time Spotify playlist here.
PURPORANGEJUICE - LOTUS
MusicCommentWith a name like Purporangejuice, it’s gotta be good right? It sounds like a beverage concoction I would have made in the 8th grade cafeteria, but he’s really an impressively skilled producer making downtempo experimental future electronic music. This unique instrumental track “Lotus” is his debut, released via forward-thinking label Warpaint Records, which has quickly become known for uniquely talented artists in the electronic space regardless of their “genre.”
Reminiscent of such virtuosic producers such as Mura Masa, Tennyson, or Electric Mantis, Purporangejuice’s “Lotus” is a chill journey through an array of iridescent synths, contemplative beats, and otherworldly sonics. One could liken it to floating through an interplanetary rainforest, which if you ask me is pretty freakin’ cool.
PORTER ROBINSON & MADEON - SHELTER (MAT ZO REMIX)
Music, RemixCommentI had the pleasure of seeing Madeon and Porter Robinson perform together last week, and damnn it was a fun ride. Seeing those two (still young) legends go toe-to-toe playing all of their hits together was a total treat! We know these guys still have a long and prosperous career ahead of them, but it was good to reflect back on their meteoric rises along with the tsunami that is dance music. Mat Zo is also legendary in his own right. These three names are honestly ones that have continually inspired me in dance music, and the hits keep coming. Mat Zo crushed this remix of "Shelter" per usual, and it makes me super happy to bring it to your ears. Dive into this one folks. You can also stream this on youtube here.
TENNYSON - YOUR EYES (FT. NJOMZA)
Music, Original MixCommentOh my lord Tennyson is simply on another level. It's incredible the maturity of music that's coming out from this camp at such a young age. This young brother sister duo has put together a broad, genre bending and eclectic catalogue, and is in no way slowing down. Their latest "Your Eyes" is another fine example of the versatility Luke and Tess can offer. The instrumental is full of arabic percussion, sound effects, world sounds, bright synths, pianos soo much good stuff it's almost hard to piece it all together. I'm a very casual fan of jazz, but you can easily tell the influence their jazz background has on their sound. Known for taking practically any type of sound: car alarms, seatbelts, breaths, footsteps, etc Luke will find a way to bend its sonic characteristics to his musical will. The prowess he shows in this ability is truly mind-blowing. In "Your Eyes" Njomza's longing vocals are soothing, but with a tinge of heartache, mellifluously rising above the instrumental taking the single soaring to new heights. If you're into geeking out at music like me then start diving into their catalogue. San Fran and LA you can catch Tennyson on tour with M83 with stops on 10/27 and 10/28 respectively more tour info here. You can also download this single for free here.
