SNBRN - LEAVE THE WORLD BEHIND

Music, Original Mix, CoverEricComment

It is ridiculously hot in LA today. The sun is scorching everything and the weather report is reading 100 pretty much all over town. Sounds like perfect timing for a new SNBRN record! Just like the weather LA is getting BRNT to a crisp over his new Swedish House Mafia cover of "Leave The World Behind." Teaming up with the always impeccable Kaleena Zanders for a second time (check out SNBRN's hot cover of California Love), the two have discovered a successful system for updating and rejuvenating seemingly overworked tunes. In true SNBRN fashion the record is packed with strings, piano, deep kicks, horns and he's chosen to go with a fun pan flute sounding melody that adds that tropical crisp to this Mai Tai of a tune. SNBRN is keeping the summer alive in September, and with LA scorching the way it is, I'm completely on board. You can stream on Spotify here or buy on Beatport here. San Francisco don't sleep on getting tickets to see SNBRN at Mezzanine Saturday November 19th. Grab them tickets below:

EAU CLAIRE - ALL THE WONDER + EP

Music, Original Mix, EPNathan ThostComment

Fresh on the heels of the creation of her very own label Feed Me Disco, Eau Claire wows with debut EP "All the Wonder". The first and signature track of the EP features for the first time Eau Claire's own vocals laid over keyboard reminiscent of all those tracks that made you first fall in love with house music. The EP's second track "Room" follows up with a one-two combo from DC's own Camille Michelle Gray and Cautious Clay, providing vocal support and a saxophone solo respectively. Following the EP release, Eau Claire will make her way down the Eastern Seaboard on tour at the end of September and into October. Between shows and future releases through Feed Me Disco, as well as 3 years of experience under her belt, you better believe Eau Claire is a force to be reckoned with.

MILLER GUTH & CHARLIE BRENNAN - BROKEN CITIES

Music, Original MixEricComment

Up and coming producer Miller Guth hailing from Michigan has already experienced some quick success performing at the prestigious NYC nightclub Pacha along with the signing of an official Trey Songz remix of "Na Na" with Atlantic records. Flash forward to today, he's just released a fun upbeat tune "Broken Cities" featuring upstart vocal talent Charlie Brennan. The tune starts melodic and relaxing, but builds to a joyous tropical-esque progressive drop that's sure to get you out of your case of the Mondays. Definitely add this one to your summer Spotify playlists here.

SAVI - BREATHE IT IN FEAT. BRYCE FOX

Music, Original MixEricComment

New to our BB pages Savi has had a couple of great releases this year with a remix for Borgeous & Tydi's "Wanna Lose You" as well as a massively successful Selena Gomez cover with TELYkast for "Hands To Myself." Well today I'm pleased to show you his latest "Breathe It In" a really terrific tune featuring fellow midwesterner and one of our growing BB faves Bryce Fox. The track is easy to fall in love with and packs an emotional punch from the second you hit play. Set to be released on all retailers 9/30 from Enhanced Recordings you can stream/download here.

FOREIGN AIR - BETTER FOR IT + FOR THE LIGHT EP

EP, Music, Original MixEricComment

Jesse Clasen and Jacob Michael better know as their dropbox project Foreign Air have put together a string of great releases beginning almost a year ago with the fantastic single "Free Animal." Flash forward to now, the duo has released their debut 'For The Light' EP today featuring the other singles "In The Shadows," "Echo," and most recently "Better For It." This single starts simply with piano, but evolves into a well produced indie pop tune with an exotic quality to it. The soundscape is lush and complex while still smooth to the core. This is an excellent book end to a break out year for the guys. SF you can catch Foreign Air at the Fillmore 11/25 and LA you can see them as part of the Red Bull Sound Select series at the Fonda 11/27 and 11/28 with Aurora and Oyster Kids. More details at their Facebook page.

KSHMR & FELIX SNOW FT. MADI - TOUCH (HTPKT REMIX)

Music, RemixNathan ThostComment

HtPkt's new remix of KSHMR & Felix Snow's "Touch" featuring Madi takes the hard hitting banger and reimagines the track in a more future bass orientation, all while maintaining the beauty and integrity of Madi's vocals. HtPkt, from Miami but currently based in NYC, is a steadily rising talent everyone can get in on early right now. He's currently at less than 1,000 followers on Soundcloud but don't expect that to stay that way for long; we see his stock rising quickly over the next year.

VINCENT - RETROGRADE

Music, Original MixHarrison MorganComment

Seven months after giving us ‘Her’ Vincent is back with a brand new sound. "Retrograde" is much deeper and seems more personal than Vincent’s past track. With it's releases Vincent posted a message on his Soundcloud page and had this to say “...  I've always wanted to showcase emotion and keep it at the forefront of my songs.” and I think "Retrograde" is full of emotion. Everything about the track is a little more intense than his other music and it pays off for sure. This is an awesome tune and I’ll definitely be looking out for more songs like this from Vincent.

AKIHABARA! - TAKE FLIGHT

Music, Original MixNathan ThostComment

19 year old, St. Louis based akihabara! continues down the path of dropping moody future bass tracks while steadily growing his presence online. "Take Flight" keeps the trend going, with melodic synths ebbing and flowing over a hard ambient bass line. Altogether adding a thorough layer of umph to an overall cerebral musical experience. Keep an eye and an ear out for this up and comer.

OYSTER KIDS - 40 NIGHTS

Music, Original MixEricComment

I'm in a very indie vibe today, so I'm gonna keep it going. We haven't been able to show Oyster Kids love in a while, so I definitely want to catch back up and throw some support behind their new single "40 Nights," and mention a few of their other amazing tracks they've released since our post of their first release "Creepy" almost a year ago (wow it's been that long!!). If you haven't heard the groovy "Lips," and the laid back summer beach friendly tune "Gum (Everybody's My Friend)," do yourself a favor and put those on your day time jams playlist. "40 Nights" is their best yet in my opinion, the falsetto chorus is just too infectious. The active rhythm section keeps the song chipper while the verse vocals mesmerizingly drift on. The combination of the verse and chorus places "40 Nights" into a mixed bag of emotions: the chorus is lighter and catchy, yet the verses inspire something almost mysterious. The net result is a song that's interesting and pop friendly all at the same time, which is no simple task these days.
