DIFFERENT SLEEP - FIRST TO SAY (FT. VANESSA ELISHA)

I'm just gonna say I love Vanessa Elisha's voice. We've been big supporters of this up-and-coming Aussie and I couldn't stop myself from supporting her new tune with Different Sleep. "First To Say" is a moody tune that slowly builds from ambient sounds and and moving pads into a vibey drop with pumping sub and two step percussion. The track envelopes you with emotional fervor as Vanessa's moving vocals entreat you to bob your head back and forth. This track is juicy and is totally ready for your rainy afternoon. FIXYN - P.U.T.P (YOUNG T & T SCOTT) FIXYN REMIX

Ring! Ring! Pick up the phone! You're next audible delight is calling. You gotta peep this tight new future hip hop remix of Young Thug and Travis Scott from LA's FIXYN. This track grooves with all sorts of ooey gooey vibey bassy goodness. The bell synths bob the track forward as the dance drop hits with phone rings, cascading chirpy synths and deep sub. This record has a certain charm to it while still being beastly and hype. I'm smiling as I'm doing this review and I think you will too. Grab this as a free DL right here. 

KID LIZARD - DO U... (KL FLIP)

Aight I've got a lot of music to churn through today, so I'm gonna rapid fire write up these tracks. This Cashmere Cat flip by Kid Lizard is, to borrow an Erin term, BANANAS! It's starts all nice and fluffy with a harp arp (lol) then spins off into this dope buildup that drops into a flaring future bass drop that's sexy af. I thought it was really interesting how he samples Miguel's "Do You..." as the pitched down vocals. Dive into this one kids! 

[PREMIERE] THE BROCKS - HLYWD

I love new songs about my home town - growing up in Southern California is definitely a different experience from those who move there with wide eyes and big dreams .... because most of the time those people get crushed! It's hard to call a place like that home, the fashion and the clicks and everyone thinking they are so important. I lived this, and now that I live in NorCal I'm happy to say I am out of that scene - even tho it will always be home for me! Today's premiere is from a fantastic up-and-coming indie electronic outfit from Utah called The Brocks - and their new track "HLYWD" is delicious! Co-produced by the homie Kaskade and released on his label, Arkade, The Brocks have their own thoughts on the city of angels. “HLYWD was written from a place of feeling tired of being told what to want and feel. So much of what comes out of Hollywood pushes what is “cool” or “normal”, and this is about wanting to break free of that.” Feels! This one officially drops tomorrow - and I love it!  I can't wait to hear more from The Brocks!  

[PREMIERE] ISAAC CAVALLARO - I WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN (FT. ZEFERELI)

Ohh I've got an awesome new track today for you from Aussie newcomer Isaac Cavallaro. Known for his experimental textures and layerings of sounds, Isaac has crafted a fluid indie electronic tune that tingles the senses in "I Will Not Let You Down." The record starts ambient and dreamlike with heavenly pads and mystical synths leading us into a mesmerizing first verse with Zefereli's vocals floating on top of the percussion. We're coaxed into the buildup which falls into a halftime chorus with vox chops, a high arp and deep sub. The track picks back up into a tropical four on the floor that's supberbly blissful before we dive back into verse two. Isaac is primed for a breakout release with this one and deserves all 3 and half minutes of your time. The tune is set for release on iTunes and Spotify on November 10.  But you can also download this single for free here.

DIRTY CHOCOLATE - WORST MOOD FT. ABBI PRESS

DC producer Dirty Chocolate just teamed up with vocalist Abbi Press to deliver a slowed down, sexed up cover of The Weekend's "Starboy" and it is inspiring to say the least. "Worst Mood" sets an melodic tone early and slowly but surely builds into a final emotional drop that seals the deal. Dirty Chocolate has been crushing it for years now, steadily building a repertoire of killer tracks with heavy hitters like Moving Castle & Nest HQ. NYC based Abbi Press continues to wow with her mesmerizing vocals, pulling the whole track together in ways reminiscent of her previous collaborations within the soundcloud producer community.

VIRTUAL RIOT - IN MY HEAD FT. PRXZM

Holy Moly! I always get giddy with excitement when I see two artists I truly love come together to collaborate and boy was I not disappointed with “In My Head”. Virtual Riot produces another great track that brings an instant smile to our face and just feel like dancing without a care in the world. PRXZM adds an ambient spin to the track and of course, the vocals completely complement the chill and fun vibe “In My Head” wants to exude. I hope this is an indication that Virtual Riot and PRXZM will collaborate on many future projects so that we can reap the benefits. Be ready to dance and sing along to “In My Head” because after listening to it once, I am holding my own karaoke jam every time it is bumping through my car’s speakers.

MONOPHONA - FOLSOM PRISON BLUES

Many music legends like Ray Charles and Elvis Costello have covered famous songs from Johnny Cash with their own unique sound and the results have been nothing short of spectacular. Here comes Monophona, dare to be extreme and cover the song that solidified the Man in Black to epic badassery when he played this song in the actual Folsom Prison back in 1968. This “Folsom Prison Blues Cover” keeps the dark aura of the song by producing its own dark sound with the guitar and bass. The continuous riff that is being played by the guitar keeps the essence of a  rhythm and blues and gets you swaying the way Johnny Cash had people moving back in the day.  The vocals match the vibe perfectly as she is singing with such soft yet dark range that reverberates due to her channeling the spirit of Johnny Cash himself. Monophona are breaking new ground and will continue to break new ground because they are that talented and just that badass. Monophona dares to be extreme, dares to go above and beyond, and dares to use the darkness and let the music naturally blossom into epic wonders. JAHKOY - CALIFORNIA HEAVEN (MEDASIN REMIX) FT. SCHOOLBOY Q

Ahh here we go! I posted Jahkoy's killer ode to sunny Californ-I-A back in September (check out the sick original here), and now we're starting to see the remixes appear beginning with this romper of a record from Medasin. He's put his own vibey spin on it with wavey synths, bobbing bells, sound effects and a chill af drop that's beastly to say the least. The arpy synths chirp around the melody with a swag you can't help but bob your head to. Dive into this one nuff said.
