Milky Chance is sure taking the Indie world by storm lately and they really feel like they are about to blossom into the spotlight. You may think that this was a very clever metaphor, yes, you’re right. Milky Chance has just released their newest hit “Cocoon” and it is already catching fire. “Cocoon” can be seen as their track that can propel them to stardom as a caterpillar breaks free from their Cocoon to blossom into a breathtakingly beautiful butterfly. They are very musically talented and we know that Milky Chance can really rock harder than most, but we see them step outside their alternative niche and take Indie by storm with good ol’ acoustics and harmonies. They keep it simple with the rhythmic guitar chord and a simple drum step to reel us in. The guitar playing is plucked beautifully to accent the soul of the music. You can swoop his track HERE!
SHY LUV - JOYRIDER

All this talk gets me excited, you know what else gets me excited? This brand new project Shy Luv, a new venture comprised of Sam Knowles (aka Karma Kid) and Jake Norman (Armeria) born from a vocal session they did together. Their new single "Joyrider" is a disco fueled, gold rimmed, instant classic of a tune with a juicy funk inspired bassline, dreamy synths, bells, afrobeat percussion and vocal duties provided by Sam himself. This track is a total groover of a record and as the name accurately describes is the perfect soundtrack for your joyride around town. MAZDE - WICKED WINDS
CommentMan do I love me some Mazde! The young German producer sure knows how to create a vibe. Last month I shared "Neverland" feat. Khary, his foray into adding some rap onto his future bass-y, soundscape-y style (which ended up hitting the coveted #1 spot on HypeM). This time, I'm so jazzed on "Wicked Winds" which is more of a chill, chugging, atmospheric dance number. He creates an incredibly infectious rhythm with the airy percussion and layers over it the dreamiest of synth chords and vocal samples. Gorgeous use of attenuating filters draws attention to different parts of the mix. The end result is an otherworldly jam that would be the ideal soundtrack for cruising along the ocean coast at night. Listen for yourself above or in any other form HERE courtesy of our Aussie friends at Stoney Roads Records.

I call every Friday black Friday now because I'm overwhelmed with all the shiny new submissions I can't get to! Today however, our yung friend Different Sleep drops a heater that I'm feeeeeling! "Just Cause ft. Deebs" has that sexy deep future groove that always stirs the emotions .... I am loving this! His gentle floating melodies under syncopated hip-hop beats are 100% dreamy! Different Sleep nailed this one! His debut album Forget It comes out January 27 and you can preorder HERE!
FRND - STICKS AND STONES
Music, Original MixCommentThe mysterious producer FRND has given us his superb sophomore release and damn is it a good one. "Sticks And Stones" is a musical cocktail of sounds including harp, juicy saws, guitar like synthwork, layers of vocal harmonies, ah's, breaths and warping vox chops in the chorus that bring this feisty tune to a whole nutha level. His lyricism retorts with a f*** you attitude perfectly complementing the smirking instrumental. The record has a double sided appeal with lighter melodies and grooving rhythms offsetting the in your face sentiments brought out through the "Sticks and Stones" vocals. The ending finishes with an awesome synth solo that abruptly ends leaving you dumbfounded with how quickly the 3 minutes 5o seconds passed by. With a hype machine number one on his first release, the self titled "Friend," we have very high aspirations for this one as well.
YEN - WHIPPIN'
Music, Original Mix1 CommentNorth Carolina producer Yen channels his inner Sango with his newest single "Whippin'". Released through Proper Vibes, "Whippin'" follows up on his excellent Missy Elliot remix alongside fellow Proper Vibes producer Evan Inc. Personally, i'm just happy to hear some good news coming out of North Carolina after the past few weeks. The day this guy starts jumping on some lineups, I'll be first in line and you can quote me on that. You can download this for free right here.

MOLLY MOORE - IMAGINARY FRIENDS (PLUTO REMIX)
Music, RemixCommentDamn I'm starting to feel old compared to all these up and coming producers lighting it up now a-days. I was sent this remix from 16 year old Pluto a bit before it came out, but due to life circumstances wasn't able to write it up until now. I was perusing the hype machine chart earlier yesterday and was happy to see this tune had already climbed all the way up to 2! I know Molly Moore is a hype machine darling and anything with her sumptuous voice is bound to get some attention, but lets focus on what this young producer has brought to this mix. The chorus drops into this minimalistic dirty sub drop with mysterious bells leading the charge in the top end. The guitars and horns intertwine with the drumming to subtly pave room for Molly's pipes. This remix doesn't go far out into left field, but instead keeps it close to home sharpening you're attention. You can download this tune for free right here.
